pAC GETS PRAISED FOR the WAY he beat them. Floyd looked like ass against DLH and barely won. Pacman fought the exact same version and stomped him. Pacman gave Hatton a through thrashing and Mayeather lost 3- 4 rounds to him.

Floyd also runs his big mouth and fails to deliever. He hasn't had a decent fight in YEARS. aS FOR criticizing the resume, do you read message boards. That is par for the course. Although, I always clowend Floyd for losing to Jose Luis Castillo and for awhile I was the only person saying the guy was not a great fighter. It offends me when others do becaUSE THERE WERE PLENTY OF PEOPLE here saying he was a p4p TYPE OF FIGHTER and later they clown Floyd for looking like shit against him. You can't have it both ways except on the internet.

I think that is unfair too - Floyd is a defensive boxer and pac is a power punching windmill. Floyd beat both guys too, i thought he went up to DLH's weight and outboxed him, and he only lost a couple rounds to Hatton while dominating and knocking him out.

even against JMM, Pacquiao showed more explosive power and the potential to win in more scintillating early-ko fashion... Floyd's impressiveness is in tactical superiority not in early highlight KO's. I feel its very ignorant to simply view them in those terms... something an MMA fan would do, but i guess that is what the fanbase is becoming these days.

Come on Ike you know damn well the 154lb DLH was not the same 147lb DLH that fought Manny. Come on bro please tell me this isn't the case. I'll Holla 5000

It doesn't matter. People will argue Hatton wasn't the same at 147 vs. his natural 140 pound weight class when Pacquiao fought him. It's a wash.

The fact is Floyd never KO's people early, its not his style. The last time he stopped a top ranked fighter early was Angel Manfredy in the late 90's.... and I would even argue that was a premature stoppage!

He doesn't overpower people either... he doesn't win fights with power.

All I know is that this is the fight PBF had to make if the Manny fight didn't happen. If those 2 mofos Manny/PBF both win their fights them dudes stand to make prolly the most money ever made in a fight.

This fight is 10 years too late but I gotta admit like many have stated this is something I've always wanted to see. Hell I'm getting excited just thinking about this fight. Boxing is not dead nor is it dying. With this fight potentially happening, the Manny/Clottey fight, the 168lb tournament and with Adamek bulking up to 222lbs shit there is some good shit on the horizon. I'll Holla 5000

Pac jumped up from friggin lightweight to fight Oscar. Hadn't even had a fight over 135 in his life and only had one fight at 135. he moves up to 147 and STOPS Oscar. You're acting like Pac had been a welterweight for years. Floyd had already had 3 fights at 147 before fighting Oscar and had fought 3 fights at 140 before moving up to 147.

To me, what Manny did is more impressive.

I do agree. But imo they were both impressive wins by both fighters. Same with the Hatton fights.

As I recall Oscar was about 18-20lb heavier in the ring against Floyd as against Pac. 'Exact same version'?:notallthere:

Floyd deserves criticism for his resume but perhaps not quite as much as he's had recently. I thought the Marquez fight was a fucking insult, made doubly so because it exploited & diminished the standing of a fellow great fighter in the process. But it's revisionist history to say the Hatton & DLH wins weren't excellent wins, because they were. Sure he really should have fit a Margarito, Mosley, Williams or Cotto in there, but Marquez aside, it wasn't like he was feasting on bums by any means, he just took the most lucrative fights out there.

If he takes on Mosley and Pac this year he can really go a long way towards establishing his credibility in a historical sense.

I understand your point about Manny. However when PBF fought DLH didn't their fight take place at 154. And correct me if I'm wrong but PBF had never fought at that weight as well. I'll Holla 5000

Clottey always finds a way to lose a big fight. Shane has won bigger fights than Clottey has ever been in.

This is the thing about boxing. You have different styles. You have some that can fucking bang Manny. Then you have PBF that does not have that power that can get a fighter out of their with 1 shot. That's what so intriging about boxing. Not everyone is the exact same. I'm gonna use the 80's Boston Celtics/LA LAkers as an example. You had the Celtics and Lakers. Both teams were fucking great great teams but they both won using very different styles. Meaning the Lakers aka showtime would fucking run your ass to death with Magic and the boys. Yeah they would pound you with Kareem but for the most part they looked to get out and run. Then you had the celtics. They would run but they would much rather ground and pound your ass with Bird/Mchale/Parrish. To me this is how I look at Manny and PBF. Manny looks to pound your ass and get you out early with the way he throws his power shots. PBF would rather finesse you and put on a boxing lesson. In my eyes both take great skill to execute and both come out with the same result. I'll Holla 5000

I just think that Adamek bulking up to 222lbs could do very good in the heavyweight division. I'm looking forward to seeing how he will compete at that level. Tell me you wouldn't want to see a Adamek/Haye fight. I'll Holla 5000

First off I agree with your points. However if PBF takes on Mosley and Manny this yr and gets wins against both it does more then re-establishing his credibility it puts him in another stratosphere IMHO. He would have beaten the man at 147 then beaten the p4p #1 dude. I mean what else would their be for him to accomplish at 147. I'll Holla 5000

 At trying to justify Floyd's shitty performances because he can't punch.

Manny wins his fights more impressively, end of story. He completely dominated Oscar, Hatton, and even Cotto, but it wasn't just down to power.

It was actually more down to speed, rhythm, accuracy, movement, unpredictability.

This is a new, more complete Pacquiao, you're acting like he's a 140 pound George Foreman, getting in the ring, plodding around then knocking someone out with his big heavy punches

No. Pacquiao has won his recent fights with speed and skill more than anything else. His power is the icing on the cake.

Why the fuck do you keep saying Mosley is the man at 147? Mosley lost to the guy that Pacman just dished out a 1 sided thrashing to. Pacman is the man at 147.

And no, a win over Mosley just solidifies Floyd's credentials as a proper 147 pounder, and great fighter.

You suggested in another thread that fighting Mosley would make up for Floyd being at 147 for 5 years, and yet only fighting 1 legit welterweight :notallthere: And you were acting like that was all it took to seal his greatness, and that he wouldn't need to take any more tough fights

Which is completely wrong. He needs to keep on challenging himself to truly be great. Fighting Mosley would just be the first step towards proving himself as a legit ATG.

I would give Floyd a lot of credit if he fought Manny, win or lose, and also a fighter in his prime who is bigger than Floyd, someone like Tall Paul. Who I think Floyd would beat by the way, but it would still be a good challenge.

Lemme ask you this quick question. I understand that Cotto beat Shane but didn't Margarito beat Cotto? And didn't Shane turn around and beat Margarito? So therefore Shane was the man that beat the man. How can Manny be considered the man at 147 when he didn't even fight Cotto at 147 and Cotto was already beaten by Margarito whom Shane demolished. So I think it's fair to say that they both have some claim to be considered the man at 147 however SHane has had more wins at the division and he beat the man which was Margarito.

Now onto your second part. I only asked the question if PBF fights and defeats Shane does this eliminate some of the backlash. Yeah I would have liked to see him fight Margarito and I would have liked to have seen him fight Cotto. But like other guys have pointed out people act like PBF hasn't fought WW. He fought Judah who was a welterweight and he fought Scubdomir who was a WW. Can't include DLH cause that fight took place at 154.

In my post I stated that if PBF fights BOTH Shane/Manny and gets W's against both in my eyes eliminates everything cause their would not be anything left for him to accomplish at 147. This is my opinion. You may or may not agree. By the way his greatness is already sealed! I'll Holla 5000

What are you talking about. Does PBF not have speed, rhythm, accuracy, movement and unpredictability? You act like these are attributes that PBF doesn't posses. I'm sorry but PBF does these things just as good if not better then Manny. The only thing that Manny has that separates him is that power. That's how he has been winning his fights is with his superior power and all the other skills however it's the power that separates him and PBF. All you have to do is ask Ricky Hatton did that monstrous left have power. I'll Holla 5000

Adamek will do good in the heavyweight division?... Well, I guess I can't blame you, seeing as, the way it's supposed to be, is that, when a smaller man goes up weight classes he only gets faster, more powerful and more durable. But is his head big enough for heavyweight?.. I dont know what clean excersizes you're supposed to do in order to make your skull grow but,..I guess that's part of what constitutes the definition of 'bulking up'.

So Basically, it's OK for Pac to Face Cotto @ 145, yet Floyd Gets ZERO Credit for Beating Hatton @ the Weight that HATTON REQUESTED...& it's OK for Pac to Face Dela @ a Weight Dela HADN'T Made in a DECADE, yet Floyd Gets ZERO Credit for Beating Dela @ 154 (a Weight Floyd HASN'T Fought @ Before OR Since)...

    Got It...

This is what I am talking about... now Floyd's wins over DLH and Hatton were "shitty performances??" Are you serious? See Z, this is another one of these revionist history types I am talking about - choose to ignore them all you want but they are all over the place.

Refer to BigDawg's post regarding the power issue, he said what I would have said.

Well said. And while it is very impressive that Pac KO'd Hatton in 2 rounds, the fact is Floyd doesn't EVER do that to anyone, he never has... his last 2 round ko win against anyone was over a decade ago at 130 pounds and it was a referee stoppage with the opponent still on his feet!

This could be true. However until they start with the random blood/urine testing then this is what we are gonna have to accept. But like I said I would love to see Adamek/Haye fight. I'll Holla 5000

That wasn't me though, I can only argue my own point of view. I'm giving props where it's due. I'm a critic of Mayweather no doubt, I was also a major Roy Jones critic too. You guys can label me a hater but I don't hate anyone. I just get pissed when the best fighters don't fight the best fighters. I just hate that about boxing. Guys reach a certain level and don't want to take anymore risk. If you're going to call yourself the best fighter, keep proving yourself.

Can I ask everyone a question. Why do people keep saying that PBF has only taken on smaller fighters at the 147lb division? I mean I understand the you're only as good as your last win/fight. Meaning I understand that PBF fought JMM who was legitametly smaller. But who else has he fought that was smaller then him at the welterweight division to where he has this stigma of only wanting to fight smaller guys. Please provide clarification. I'll Holla 5000

Come on. Now you're nitpicking. Cotto is a welterweight, the weight was 2 pounds under the welterweight limit and Pacquiao beat the shit out of Cotto.
