http://www.mmamania.com/2010/1/26/1270842/report-forrest-griffin-vs-antonio That's a really good fight added to this card. After being hit with a rash of injuries that resulted in some less that stellar cards, UFC's 110-114 are stacked with great fights. Here's the unofficial UFC 113 lineup so far. Champ Lyoto Machida vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (for light heavyweight title)* Paul Daley vs. Josh Koscheck* Forrest Griffin vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira* Marcus Davis vs. Jonathan Goulet* Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson vs. Matt Mitrione* Alan Belcher vs. Patrick Cote* Jeremy Stephens vs. Sam Stout* T.J. Grant vs. Johny Hendricks* TFK
Just like the Silva fight, Griffin has no chance of winning this fight. 1% chance is that Nog blows out his knee and the fight is stopped, or freak cut that occurs for no reason. Otherwise, even if Nog is injured and can still manage to continue he will beat Forrest easily everywhere in every single facet of MMA.
Machida, Griffin and Kimbo....this should do very good numbers.....still, i see the story says the event is taking place on May 1st....i wonder if they have just forgot about the UFC rescheduling of this event, or if the UFC, by adding Griffin, are prepared to take on Mayweather-Mosley if it does happen.
I hope they do move it, I want to watch both. Mitrione is a great matchup for Kimbo. Love it. someone is getting KTFO. Meathead is stupid enough to trade.:hammert:
Meathead can take it though, that is the difference. I wouldn't say he is stupid to trade, infact I think he KO's Kimbo doing it. Meathead's chin seems to be very solid.
It wouldn't shock me at all. Kimbo's power is very overated. A guy like Kimbo, who's strength is his stand up, but who has very little punching power, does not have much of a chance for a long career in MMA. TFK
Kimbo was one kick from queer street in his last fight its a shame really but the guy is really going to struggle against the top end MMA fighters.
I don't give a shit about this fight, but I am looking forward to the main 2 fights though. I'd like to see what Machida does this time, considering I thought Rua won the first fight clearly, Machida did fuck all. Daly - Koscheck is an interesting fight too, even though I expect Josh to win.
I think Machida is gonna be looking to make a statement in this fight. I think he'll finish Rua, either sub or KO. Koshcheck should beat Daley, most likely by decision, as long as he doesn't try to trade with him and he doesn't get caught by a lucky shot, which has happened to him before. TFK
I wonder if they already gave Marcus Davis the KO of the Night bonus check. You know that one is inevitable. TFK
I picked Machida to win, in fact I thought it was obvious, based on Shogun's form for the last few years. But he looked like the Shogun of old, and Machida seemingly had no answer for him. Stylistically it seems to favour Shogun, if he can repeat the performance. Seeing as you're picking Machida this time, what do you think was the reason for his non performance in the first fight?
Machida fought the same way he normally he does, the thing is if you added up all of the striking abilities of all his opponents together(excluding little BJ) you'd get about half the striking of Rua.
without a doubt. Rua had a great game plan and stuck to it. Rashad, Tito, Thiago Silva don't even come close to being in the same class as Rua in stand up. This is a very tough matchup for Machida stylistically, these two could fight ten times and split 5 to 5.
I just don't think Machida had a plan B.....his counter-striking had always worked for him up until this fight. Hopefully what happened has motivated him to look to do different things here.....first and foremost he needs to be more aggressive
It makes me wonder if Machida HAS a plan B. His counters are sooo good, no one up to Rua really had anything to beat them. I think Machida could work over the 205 division 5 times over and STILL have big issues with Rua. As we all know, styles make fights, this one is a tough one. Great for the fans:cheer:
