Because despite the fact that PBF had exhibited a pattern of not fighting the best available oppostion, when I heard that both Manny & PBF had agreed to the contract for their fight & it was going ahead, I believed that the fight was going to take place.

Then PBF proceeded to introduce an unprecedented extra stipulation or he wasn't going to fight after all.

Consequently, now when I hear that the Mosley fight will definately take place, I am understandably sceptical,

Personally, I do think that he will face Mosley. He really has backed himself into a corner. To not go through with the fight now, even for PBF would be too obvious a duck job considering his history.

I'd imagine most of his most ardent apologists (except maybe for some here), wouldn't give him another free pass.

Mosley is a less dangerous opponent IMO for PBF than Manny, & I expect PBF to win. I only hope that when he does, he will then have enough confidence to seek out the greatest available challenges.

If he does, (even if he loses along the way), then I will very happily give him all the credit in the world. After all, I am a boxing fan, & I want to see the best fight the best.
When I see a great talent like PBF consistently not do that, as a boxing fan, I find it frustrating.

As it stands with the Mosley fight, for me, it's more of a case of "About bloody time"

As for those who seem happy to see a great talent not seek the best available challenges, & are happy to make excuses for him and bestow greatness on the strength of a Hypothetical resume- Well, for me that's not a boxing fan. That's a groupie.

Well, like it or not,.. the reality is,..Pacquiao DUCKED Fraud because he was TOO SCARED to fight him without taking, illegal performance enhancing drugs alongside his evident HGH uptake, and now Fraud is fighting the far superior opponent, in a fight, as good as anyone can guarantee will be clean.

In my opinion, he's never been on such a hot-streak, so where was all this hatred back in 2006 when he fucking deserved it more than ever?..

Shane has disgraced himself with performance enhancers before, but Fraud chronically breaks the rules in the boxing ring, turning your back, bending your head below belt level, constantly running from engagement, a push, elbow, or a forearm to your opponents face is all a form of cheating so,.. they both deserve the loss for thier pasts,..but if Fraud lost now, the spotlight on Pacquiao's drug use will just fade away in celebration so,.. I dont think I want him to lose just yet, even though I like Mosely alot more.

You have no idea whether or not this is the reality of anything, just like a bunch of others who keep supposing it. Repeating it ad nauseum and continually drawing people into the same argument doesn't make it any more factual.

If Mayweather doesn't beat Shane by at least a score of 118-110 or by TKO, he should be embarrassed.

There's nothing wrong with hating Fraud, but hating him because he exposed Pacquiao as a man who's content to cheat to win at higher weights is about as good a reason as Fraud-groupies going ape-shit at Margarito because thier celebrated hero refused to get into the ring with him. It appears, on behalf of the love for Pacquiao, or the extreme hatred for Fraud, it's got to be anything, absolutely anything other than the reason that fits perfectly in sync with it's surroundings, like, he intends to take illegal performance enhancers and refuses to be randomly tested a month out from a fight, and if he cant take them, he wont fight.

As it stands, "It takes 24 days for Manny to fully recover from a blood test".. that's the one team Pacquiao has settled on you realise?,... so what would you like to invent on behalf of him instead? or, would you like to roll with that? Have you also got a more suitable explanation for the growth of his skull, other than the documented effects of using HGH ?..

It has nothing to do with hating Floyd. The fact that it is Floyd has nothing to do with it. Manny is entitled, in all the circumstances, to tell Floyd to fuck off until the rules are changed. That is what he should have done at the start instead of fucking around with stupid excuses.

What I object to is your statement as 'Manny being exposed as a cheat' as fact, when it is nothing of the sort. You keep saying it and saying it as if it is an irrefutable statement of proof when it is simply your opinion, based upon, it seems, the size of Manny's head.

Yes, they're stupid excuses, contradictory lies, made up, on the spot, because the real reason, is extremely damaging, damaging enough to decline a monsterous amount of money for the coach, promoter and fighter.

There's only two ways it appears, in your mind, that Pacquiao can only be exposed as a drugs cheat, and they're both conveniently up to him. A confession like Mosely's "I was tricked" one, or for him to test positive under the ridiculed NSAC drug-testing apparatus. So we all gotta keep quiet, and allow this corrupt, capitalist regiume to roll forwards with universal celebration, until the day that happens,..

He's saying that you're too smart to believe a blood test taken 24 days before a fight will weaken him 24 days later.

Yeah, I think people just either

    a. Want to move on and pretend this never happened

    b. Conjure up their own excuse for Pacquiao (one that sounds a lot better than the stumbling string of lies they've told)

or c. Claim innocent till proven guilty. That's fine except you can't demand accusers show proof while alternatively turning down the one thing that could prove innocence or guilt.

What can you do? Whatever the case, their actions have told the story.

No-one is seriously giving any credence to the excuses given behind his refusal. They are stupid. He should have just said "fuck right off" and that would have been that.

Not that it would have mattered, of course. Because cynical, presumptive and gullible souls would have said exactly the same thing anyway.

I don't believe that, no. But I do believe that Manny is under no obligation to take any test not ordered by a governing or sanctioning body. If that happens and he refuses, he should be banned. Until then, he can tell Mayweather to fuck off.

Here's what I don't understand. When Manny fought Cotto and I argued about how Cotto should have said "fuck off" or been able to weight 147 if he wanted to, some people were arguing that he (Cotto) had a choice to fight or not and having made that choice he was stuck with it.

Then, when Floyd makes a similar demand and Manny says "fuck off", roughly the same collection of people are now saying that Manny's refusal is clear evidence of his being a cheat.

So if you don't believe that, why do you think they said it? They could've said f*ck off to begin with, right? Instead they agreed....in fact, they only began throwing their arms in the air when the agency handed them the itinerary for testing. So when they claim that "we have no problem with testing as long as it's on such and such dates" ...what do you think?

The excuses are ridiculous. And certainly made them look more guilty than if they'd just said fuck off from the beginning, like Mosley/GBP did to Judah.

But even if it's just psychological, maybe Manny really does believe taking blood weakens him.

Is that beyond the realm of possibility? He claimed he didn't like having blood taken and it weakened him years ago.

Being that there's no tangible evidence at all, is really an impossible thought that - gasp - Manny might NOT be on roids?

Me and the other Pacman fans acknowledge that Manny might be on roids.

The Floyd fans think Manny MUST be on roids, no way he is innocent, and yet the Pacman fans are the nuthuggers?

Nah. The fact is nobody knows. Manny being on roids or Floyd ducking the fight is just speculation.

This is not about Floyd fans or Manny fans. This is about the issue of testing. And yeah, of course there's a possibility that Pacquiao really believes he needs that long to recover from a simple blood procedure. If you want to stand on that improbable theory, fine. But, as you said, the excuses are ridiculous. And not very believable. End of story.

Anyway, great fight on May 1st. I'm excited.

Honestly, I think they were caught on the hop, both by the request and (more importantly) by the fact that the issue became public. I think they were also surprised by the response to the refusal, which lead a vocal minority to take the line that you have clearly taken. By the time they seeme to have gotten their balance again, the damage had been done.

Could this be explained by Manny being a cheat? Of course it could. It's very much a possibility, no doubt about it. But it is not the ONLY explanation, which is the line you are taking, Kauki is taking and a couple of other are taking and is just as ridiculous as those who are taking the "it is Floyd so automatically we should slate him" stance.

You don't know anything for sure. No-one does.

I'm not going any further with this, because I already have done it to death and it is extremely boring, with the same people going round and round in circles arguing the same points and in possession of NOTHING other than supposition and the few scraps of informtaion which have been made public.

There's no doubt the excuses are ridiculous, and they do lend weight to the OPINION that he might well be roiding it up.

However ridiculous the excuses are, they at least became a bit less ridiculous for me when I saw the video of him talking after the Morales fight, saying the blood test weakened him.

Now in a scientific/biological sense, would the tests weaken him? Almost certainly not.

But as I am sure you know Kenneth, a huge part of boxing and other competitive sports is psychological.

So if Manny believes a blood test weakens him and seems unnatural, it's not that improbable.

The truth is I wouldn't like to say whether Manny is on roids or not. He might be, he might not be. But what it boils down to for me is I don't see refusing the tests as an admission of guilt so to speak, like many of you seem to. It's going to take more than that to make me think Manny is on roids.

When this story first came about, my initial thought was oh shit, Manny must be on roids. In fact you can probably see my post in the first thread that appeared. That's certainly not the reaction of a nuthugger. A nuthugger doesn't entertain the idea of anything negative about his favourite fighter.

Then I thought about it some more, and I realised, in Manny's position, I would probably refuse the tests too, even being innocent. And it's since then that I've taken the position of innocent until proven guilty, and that refusing a test that he is under no obligation to take is by no means evidence of guilt. That's all.

But in regards to your last line, I agree, we shouldn't still be discussing this, it's getting a bit boring now, this is a thread about Mosley - Mayweather, which is a fight I've wanted to see for years actually :kidcool:

PBF via UD with at least an 8-4 margin across the cards. Mosley's been out of the ring too long for this to be too competitive.
