I don't think he is shot though, and if Floyd beats him convincingly, it's a very good win, no doubt about it.

Shane's worst performances have all come at 154 too, he is clearly suited to welterweight.

Whoever wins Manny Vs Floyd (if it happens) is not going to win easily. It's going to be a close fight, and probably go the distance.

 

I can see PBF stopping Mosley simply by landing too many hard shots. Either the ref steps in, the corner throws in the towel or Shane retires himself. Mosley no more has the reflexes to lead against Floyd and Mayweather won't leave any counter opportunities. It takes time for Mosley to set up these days and Mayweather won't give it to him.

This will be a one-sided fight. Mosley plods forwards, Floyd picks him apart. Margarito was tailor-made for old Mosley to look good against since Mosley could land at will (he still hits hard) and Marga hit slow enough for Shane to see it. It will be a completely different story this time

Floyd simply won't commit or open up enough to stop Shane.

Did you see the Marquez fight? Floyd fought incredibly cautiously and tentatively against an old featherweight, you're being a little optimistic to say the least to think that Floyd attacks enough to stop Mosley.

 

No, I think Mosley attacks enough for Floyd to stop him. Marquez found no way of getting at Floyd so he stayed out and Mayweather took the easy win. Mosley will try to force to change the pattern, he won't just stand and watch as Floyd walks into a victory. That's why Floyd will counter him hard and often

Whether Mosley attacks or not, he is going to have to open up in order to stop Mosley, a lot.

And opening up against an attacking Mosley is even riskier than opening up against someone passive and patient like Marquez.

Mosley is very tough, has an excellent chin, and good power. Floyd knows this.

There is simply no way Floyd takes enough risks to stop Mosley. I'd be very surprised if that happened, very surprised.

 

Even as recently as the Mayorga fight, Mosley took some hard whacks to the chin with no effect.
