http://www.mmamania.com/2010/2/12/1307465/gegard-mousasi-severs-ties-with-m Big news. That definitely leaves the door open for Mousasi to go to the UFC. Not sure what this means for his Strike Force fight against King Mo. TFK
Are you seriously calling Fedor a fraund? This is a great move for Mousasi and MMA fans in general. Mousasi is my favorite fighter, this guy is young, experienced, and P4P material. The UFC should really make a play for him. Something tells me they will let him fight Dan Henderson first though to see if he is worth bringing over and for how much.
This guys a moron. Absolutely no basis to anything he posts. Just typical 15 year old bullshit designed to attract attention to himself.
Yeah, I would like to hear that too. I remember when I first started following MMA I thought Fedor was overrated since I had never really watched him fight. Pretty easy to rate someone without seeing them. However, not wanting to be completely ignorant, I went back and watched about every single Fedor bout I could find. The dude is just a robot. Cuts, slams, stunning punches, etc don't ever seem to rattle him. How many guys could get slammed like he did against Randleman and stay focused enough to almost immediately lock in a kimura. So from a former non-believer who picked Tim Sylvia to beat Fedor, there is no doubt the dude is as far from being a fraud as anyone on the planet.
Why would you pick a guy with such an immense lack of talent and heart and chin whom had lost 2 of 3 fights, including old man Randy, to beat a guy as talented as Fedor?
Exactly, I love when Fraudor fans justify his resume with Tim Sylvia. Not only in hindsight is Sylvia utter shit. He was shit before then. Losing two of three with the win being an unimpressive decision against little ass Vera. That'd be like being impressed with Marquardt for beating Martin Kampmann. I haven't been impressed with Fraudor since his last fight with Nog, which was what 5 years ago?
Of course you weren't. You are a 15 year old troll who doesn't even understand the sport in the first place. There is no one who actually follows the sport who can actually say that they are not impressed by Fedor. The fact that you think that people regard Sylvia as one of Fedors big wins just shows how stupid you are. By the way, if he is so unimpressive, why do you rank him in your top 5 p4p??
I know. I know. I am a far more educated MMA fan now as proven by my wagering of a few bucks on Dan Miller this past weekend. My wife, who rarely watches MMA, bet 50 on Sonnen because she met him in the lobby and thought he was cute. So I get to listen to that for the rest of our marriage.
Fedor's resume is a "Who's Who" list of the HW division over the past 10 years. Which makes sense, since Fedor started wiping his ass with the division before you started school. Now don't get me wrong, I would love to see Fedor fight Lesnar, Carwin, and Mir. But just because he doesn't worship at the almighty alter of the UFC, you call him a Fraud? Just curious, you seem to love Silva. I'm a big fan as well. Who would you say is his biggest win since joining the UFC? Franklin? Griffin? or maybe Patrick Cote?
First off, I'm near the end of my teenage years so the growth of MMA has coincided with my own. I haven't missed much outside of the Bas Rutten Pancrase days. Second, I'm not a Silva fan but I'd say his biggest win is Henderson, then Franklin then Forrest. Third, obviously my gripe with Emelianenko is his resume after Nog, which is not a "Who's Who". It's actually quite a joke, Matt Lindland whom is two weight classes south of him, Zuluzihno, Sylvia, AA, Rogers and Mark Hunt. Meanwhile the HW is improving drastically with guys like Lesnar, Mir, Dos Santos, Carwin and Valazques. And Fedor wants no part of it. Instead fighting a UFC castoff that was KO'd brutally by a prospect and is STILL not a top 5 Heavy in Werdum. Annointing this guy to me would be like annointing Nick Diaz for being a champion in a org with almost no top 10 WWs. It seems like the phrase "To be the best you got to beat the best" doesn't seem to apply to MMA.
Furthermore, Fedor has struggled against guys with high skill levels, it helps him that the Heavyweight division has been a joke until recently. Arona handed him his ass despite being a weight class smaller and got robbed. So a match with Mir or Dos Santos intrigues me as well as the superfight with Lesnar.
That was probably the best post you have probably made since coming to this forum TLC. I think all of MMA would love to see Fedor fight in the UFC. But to call Fedor a fraud is childish. The guy has been fighting the best guys in the HW division outside the UFC. The UFC won't come down off their demands and neither will Fedor. Luckily for both of them, neither of them need each other to make money.
Mainly I call him a fraud not as a desciption of his skills, HE to me, HE is a fraud and a phony. His persona seems very fake to me. Here's a guy who's supposed to be this regular, soft-spoken down to earth guy who wants to be the best fighter in the world, and he shows this with reported connections to the Russian Mafia, and his greedy company M1. Fraudor is as pretentious as it gets, he tries to act like a good guy, but he's so arrogant to make a seemingly ridiculous list of demands to any company that wishes to sign him, demands that only he is granted.(SF essentially is his bitch, having ridiculous stipulations such as the one where Mousasi couldn't fight if he wasn't, another very big reason Im stoked he left) The fans don't help matters. Fedor is unquestionably the number one HW in MMA, but be realistic. Anytime I hear this "God of MMA" or "He has nothing left to prove(after beating a guy like Brett Rogers -_-) it turns my stomache. Out of 2 through 6 out of the current ranked HWs, Fedor beat one, a half decade ago. So you may think it's childish to call him Fraudor, and maybe it is, but I personally don't like the guy.
Put this way, I find Fedor's seemingly increasing list of demands(Combat Sambo, then unprecedented salary, then Co-promotion, then stipulated M-1 contracts, soon an arm and a leg) akin to how some people think of Mayweather's demands of Pacquiao, ridiculous, unprecedented and a cop out.
