Just something light-hearted here as there's a bit of a lull right now in regards to upcoming big fights. What are the best, and worst, boxers nicknames, dead or alive, retired or active?

For the best theres a few:

    James "Lights Out" Toney

Friday "The 13th" Ahunanya - just awesome

There was an Aussie guy who fought on an undercard a few years back, could possibly have been a Commonwealth title fight, can't remember his name but the nickname was "The Titanium Australian", loved it, shame he was shit and got knocked out, but a pretty cool name.

    For the worst:

John "The Quiet Man" Ruiz - the least intimidating name ever

There was a guy on a major event undercard not too long ago who had the nickname "The Cunning Little Fox"...what the fuck

There's many more but lets hear your contenders...

"The Black Rhino" ending up fighting "The White Buffalo" was kind of funny to me. Among the funnier ones are "The Hispanic Causing Panic", "Ding-a-Ling Man"

Owen "What the Heck" Beck is pretty bad, Monte Barrett flipped it to "Hit the Deck".

    I like these nicknames:

    Hands of Stone
    The Hitman
    Lights Out
    The Cobra
    Violent
    Bonecrusher
    The Bodysnatcher
    The Executioner
    The Ghetto Wizard
    The Galveston Giant

    Lousy nicknames:

The Next Generation (this isn't Star Trek)
Money (Pretty Boy was way better)
    Wimpy
    The Boxing Banker
    Super
    The Pink Cat
    The Lion
Mighty (thankfully they usually called Tyson "Iron" instead of this lame one)

Jim Rock, an Irish boxer of local repute, was known as "The Pink Panther"...it sounds camp but it went with his fleshy pink skin tone and actually fitted.

However, pfp, I think the greatest boxing nickname of all time belongs to a fighter called Anthony "Sugar Ray Clay Jones Jr" Small

Worst ones are the much-used ones like Bull, Hammer etc.

One all-time worst was "A Ghost With a Hammer In His Hand" Jimmy Wilde. A nickname that long kind of loses its original idea.

Jeremy "Half Man, Half Amazing" is a stupid one too.

Vaughn "Shake and Bake" Bean was funny

The nicknames weren't 'bad', but certainly not representative of their styles.

lance whitaker was awful. not sure how maskaev managed to get his ass knocked out by that bum and t-rex sanders yet somehow regrouped to win a title and few other decent wins.
