    True, you can imagine working in two-channel Ireland in the mid-eighties, with limited other media, where leftfield comedy or entertainment on the national broadcaster meant brush shiels wearing a beret, or Frank Carson telling mother-in-law jokes

    Paddy Cole, Sonny Knowles, Brush Shiels, Hal Roach, Noel V Ginnity etc....there were a bunch of half-assed entertainers who shed a quiet tear upon Gay Byrne's retirement, knowing they would never again appear on the small screen

    And in any other era he nevva would have been a beltholder, only in an era of ultra duplicitous titles where the title is split 4 ways and then split another two ways would this guy win a title.

    Even the guy he beat for the European Title, Esham Pickering, had been beaten by one Michael Hunter, who himself lasted around 4 rounds with the IBF 122 Champ, Steve Molitor.

    Molitor then went and got blasted out by Celestino Caballero...who was the REAL WBA Champ.

    Dunne never went anywhere near these guys.......yet says he won a title at 122 where it is "so hard to win a title", all the while implying to an unsuspecting public that he had mixed with these guys.
