Like a few have mention already comparing Marquez and Duran is ridiculous.

Duran had a a bunch of fights at 147 and 154 against All-Time Greats like Ray Leonard, Benitez and Hagler and some who were very good fighters like Cuevas, Palomino, Laing and Moore. Who did Marquez fight at 140? NOBODY, what about at Welter? NOBODY. He had a few decent fights at 135 vs. Baby Cow and Casamayor not exactly the Benitez, Hearns, Leonard of our time.

He jumped straight from 135 to 145 to fight Mayweather, he went ahead and didn't make the agreed weight of 145 and came in as a full Welterweight. What you did not notice the size difference??

 

Yet lots of the same fags on this site, who are now complaining, actually picked Marquez to beat him as did Oscar de la Hoya and a few others.

My point is...historically speaking..beating a GREAT little fighter is still seen as an accomplishment. just when mayweather does it everyone laughs at him.

No one I saw picked Marquez. It was good for what it was: a comeback fight. I said at the time that JMM was a better opponent then I was expecting for FMs first fight back but the outcome was a forgone conclusion. It was further cemented when Floyd didn't bother making the weight.

Don't make that fight something it wasn't.
