Kostya was a monster, knocking out guys like Mitchell and Judah and an old Chavez. He dominated his weight class for a season.

Pacquiao didn't fight long at 140lbs...but in his brief stint there he wiped the floor with Hatton.

    So who wins?

    Not manny.

Kostya had underrated boxing skills...he'd time Manny...catch him coming in.

    Lights out.

Tszyu is very underrated these days, but seeing how good Manny has looked at 140 and up I have to pick him. Tszyu could be hit with straight punches and Manny's speed and accuracy would be very difficult for him to handle. Much would depend on what happens when Tszyu catches Manny in turn with his cross, but so far Pac has demonstrated an ability to take a good shot. Pacquiao on points or stoppage on cuts

This is a tough one for me...

Kostya was a solid fighter and showed the he knew how to deal with speed (judah for example). But Manny appears to be a phenomenon and is showing, surprisingly, a very solid chin.

If I was betting I would go with manny by late KO.

I'd take Manny. In a dog fight I trust Manny's HEART over Tszyu's. Manny has a fight to the death mentality. Tszyu had a punish mentality, yet the two times he was really met with true resistance... he folded both times. Pac TKO 11.

I just don't see how Manny wins this fight. Kostya's jab would have kept manny off him. Plus, his right hand was a laser and straight as hell.

i see Kostya taking shots, but don't see Manny handling the incoming. Plus, Kostya could cut the ring down...make Manny work harder than he wanted.

Tszyu stood upright a bit too much but he caught punches with his gloves pretty well...I like Kostya in this one.

I have no doubt at all that Manny's straight left finds a home down the middle and HURTS Tszyu. Also Manny would be able to get the right hook in over Tszyu's hanging left. Its a tough fight for Manny without a doubt, but I see his speed being Tszyu's undoing. And dont bring up Tszyu handling Zab's speed, cause Manny isnt a glass chinned mental midget like Zab.

A myth. A silly myth at that.

Tszyu did win his share of firefights (remember Hurtado?) and against Phillips heart had little to do with it as Vince hit with overhand right after another. Which leaves us with Hatton fight which, after 200+ amateur fights and decade of pro career does not show very bad HEART

My sister has a better chin then Hurtado.

And dont get me wrong.... I'm not saying Tszyu lacked heart. But I dont think he had as much desire to win a war as Manny.

In order for Tszyu to beat Manny, he'd have to stop him within 6-7 rounds IMO. In a long, grueling war I trust Manny's stamina and desire more than I do Tszyu's.

If you knew anything about history, you'd know that Finns have no reason whatsoever to make excuses for Russians, instead Finns have every reason to hate them and much more so than Americans.

Anyway, since 'making excuses' seems to equal to giving reasons to an opinion, so be it. Please keep making excuses for God, I am sure he needs your protection

Zab is probably a bit taller than Manny and at that time I'd say his hands and reflexes were better than Manny's.

Again...Manny still makes mistakes...he's far from a perfect fighter...patient guys like tyszu would figure him out and counter him...Marquez managed to get Manny's rythmn...now imagine Tszyu's power coming behind it.

    I like Kostya.

Found out recently that during WWII Britain and Finland were the only two democracies in history to have declared war on each other. No shots were fired though.

I would tend to agree with this.

You seem to Forget, Fin, that you have a habit of doing this with your silly horse references in perfectly good conversations.

But it's all good..it is a good discussion and so let's get back to it.

Which is why I added the emoticons so that anybody could catch the self-irony.

Anyways, this topic has already been solved. Manny wins, but not because of heart but instead because the huge edge in speed and Tszyu's open stance.

Negative. See my response to the Duran thread. Duran woulda beaten Manny to death.

I dont have a problem with you picking Tszyu. I certainly see your points, and reasoning..... I just beg to differ.

And Manny will lose to someone.... just as soon as he fights Floyd.

I'm not so sure about that...pacman is open for double jabs and lead right hands...
cotto landed almost at will with right hands and so did Marquez, kostya has more power than both, and could easily stretch Pacman with one right hand let alone many.
but also Pacman could take him out early, who knows.
