The best bit of shit-talking I've seen Mosley do was his ESPN interview...the guy asked him how he felt about Mayweather bringing up his divorce and said Mosley needed the money...Shane said Floyd needs the money because his company gave Floyd money to pay his tax debt.

    None of it matters anyway...

Like you said...Vargas talked tons of shit...he got knocked out both times...the second worst than the first.

Even though words don't flow like water from Shane's mouth...when he eventually got it out I did like the:

"May FIRST symbolizes MAY's FIRST LOSS"

    Pretty good.

Floyd is going to win this fight going away though and he'll beat Shane at his own game...to the surprise of many on this board.

Floyd will run early and potshot...but when Shane starts to tire around the 5th/6th rounds Floyd's going to stay in the pocket (and still be elusive) and nail Shane left right and centre leading to an eventual stoppage in around the 11th.

    You'll see.

Who's better that Pac beat at 147? Cotto fight was 145.

Floyd talked tons of shit to both De la Hoya and Hatton...hell even worse to Corrales and Gatti as well.

I haven't seen floyd knocked out yet.

I actually think that Floyd's shit talking helps himself. I believe it's kinda like Muhammad Ali's strategy: the more shit talking he did the more motivated he was to train and be ready for the fight because he KNEW that he had to back it up in the ring.

I think that's why Floyd does it.

Floyd does it because his fights are so technical that some might call it boring so he has to spice it up to build controversy. Also he likes to psychologically beat his opponents before a punch is thrown.

Like I said before the press conferences might be more entertaining than the fight itself.

If you feel the public and press don't appreciate what you do or you sense that the majority likes to see him not only defeated for the first time but knocked out, you feel like you have to prove naysayers and others wrong every time out, then you prepare like a madmen to be ready on fight night.

Any fight above 140 is considered a fight at welterweight.

I'm curious to know how the paternship between Oscar, Shane and Bernard is divided.

To know whether it is true when Mayweather tries to mock Mosley by saying he is an employee of GBP and Mosley answers back that Mayweather is paying HIS company GBP for their services?

Press conferences can be entertaining but it has little relevance to the fight's outcome.

Rahman was having a field day with Lewis prior to their rematch. Lewis had to sit there and listen to all the trash directed at him. At all came to end with that crushing right hand in the 4th round.

That was one of my sweetest moments in boxing...too bad Lewis fucked up the "change his name to hasbeen rahman" line in the post-fight interview - some of Lewis's post-fights comments always seemed a bit rehearsed, his lousy HBO punditry indicates how awful he is when he has to ad lib

PBF is promoted by GBP. Period. PBF comes off really stupid when he appears convinced otherwise.

This is THE THING that most people don't know....

All the fighters like Shane Mosley, Floyd included. Shane's impossible not to like: he's a nice guy and always respectful.

Floyd fights better when there is (created) animosity between him and his opponent.

So with Shane it's very difficult and so Floyd has to get nasty and talk about Jin and alimony etc...basically try everything to somehow make it some sort of bitter rivalry. It's difficult to train hard to beat a guy that you like.

So Floyd is hoping for confrontations in order to get him psyched up. That's what's going on here...

I remember Floyd saying once: "Be ready so you don't have to get ready"

He is ALWAYS in tremendous shape. If you don't get tired, the less of a probability of making a mistake. But I have a hard time believing he'll stop Mosley. Even when he decides it's time to walk Shane down. I have a feeling Mosley will find a way not only to survive but be competitive down the stretch.

Mosley is also a gym rat. He has to know Mayweather banks on having better CARDIO. He needs to work behind his JAB and work the BODY for the later rounds. Something Oscar did but not consistently because of what? CARDIO. Judah couldn't keep up the pace of the first 4 rounds because of CARDIO. Hatton couldn't last in the fight because of CARDIO and SIZE.

Something that surprises me is Floyd looks at least as big as Shane. I thought Shane would be at least an inch taller, and stockier. If anything, Floyd looks slightly stockier. Maybe it was just the suits, I don't know.

Very staged but I had to laugh at Floyd...he puts his hands on Shane and Shane easily pushes him back...definite difference in natural strength. To make it worse, Floyd snatches his hand away at the end like a woman would.

    Funny stuff.

Don't agree with this...Floyd fights the same regardless.

Two guys who have been around this long, neither gets into the others head. It's only about selling tickets. The sad part that Floyd hasn't figured out is, he's at the point where he'd be better served not playing the villain everytime out.

I noticed the same thing. Floyd is pretty strong, even at 147, but it was clear even from that little pushing match that Shane was stronger, he effortlessly pushed Floyd back, and there was nothing Floyd could do.

That didn't surprise me, what did surprise me is Floyd being at least as big as Shane.

That's a downright idiotic thing to say.

Pacman just beat the living shit out of a guy who holds a close win over Shane.

Of course not, but he could at least say he's going to school him, outbox him etc etc. Why bother saying it's going to be a toe to toe battle? It's just stupid, I think even casual fans know that's not going to happen, and that's not how Floyd fights.

You guys are just looking for stuff...

The guy that is pushed is the one that moves back. Simple pushing 101.

I'm not looking for anything. Floyd grabbed Shane, Shane pushed Floyd, Floyd tried to push back but Shane looked stronger. Simple

And you got all of this from the split second Shane walked Floyd forward before Floyd resisted did you?

ever seen floyd ndou, floyd burton, floyd hatton, floyd judah, floyd chavez....

Floyd's multi-dimensional. He can stink it out and outbox potshot or he can stay in the trenches.

I've seen almost all of Floyd's fights.

Against welterweights, Floyd is a stinker. Fuck, even against a featherweight Floyd was a stinker in his last fight

Are you actually contemplating the possibility that this could be an exciting toe to toe battle sly?

He was far more exciting at 130, and more exciting against 140 pounders like Ndou, Hatton etc in general.

He won't be taking risks against Mosley, he'll fight defensively and he'll pot shot.

even if he isn't, there's simply no way that the Cotto who fought Pacquiao could've declined to the extent he would have to have for it to be possible to say that Pacquiao wouldn't still beat the version of Cotto that beat Mosley. Actually, though, I thought Mosley beat Cotto. But either way.
