PC: Let it be known that you are not looking for an easy road in the UFC and that you are looking to fight the best.

JT: Let me tell you something, I came to the UFC to do one thing and that's to fight the best out there. If it's Couture, so be it. If it's somebody else, so be it. Let's get it on and popping. When Dana White said MMA fighters are better than boxers, come on now, you know better than that.

PC: How important was it for you to have a clause to be able to continue to box?

JT: I told them, "Man, look, you are the one that said boxers would have to come to you. Ya'll scared to come to my game, so I will come to ya'll game. What do ya'll want to do? If ya'll want to do a deal, cool and if not, fuck it, let's go on about our business. You go out and say you're sorry and apologize; you be the bitch!"

PC: How soon are you looking into stepping inside the Octagon?

JT: They are talking about June or July, so I'll be ready. That still gives me plenty of time, you know what I'm saying?

PC: It's funny because a lot of MMA fans will give a decorated wrestler, who has no boxing or Jiu Jitsu training, a chance to be successful in MMA, bu they won't give an established boxer a shot in MMA even though the fight starts in your comfort zone: standing.

JT: All day! The fights start standing and that's my comfort zone all day, you heard me. If they think they going to rush me to the ground and thinks it's going to be easy and I don't know what I'm doing, come on man. I'm a very strong man. I know what I have to do and if they shoot in on me, they getting launched into outer space like a satellite.

Despite being such a douche, Toney's probably been the guy from my era of watching boxing I've enjoyed watching and rewatching the most. Its gonna be sad watching him so far out of his element & being humiliated by some putz with 1/5th his talent at their game.

I think James is missing the fact that he will be fighting in a division littered with 250-260 pound guys that can fight. Unless he's trimmed down since his last fight.

If I'm Dana, I match him with Roy Nelson right out of the gate. Two fat slobs great at their own disciplines going at it.

Roy Nelson is waaay to experienced for Toney. Toney would get subbed in under a minute with Roy. Of course, he'd have a punchers chance, but Roy is way to smart and crafty to give him that chance. I want to see Toney/Kimbo. They are about the same weight, it would be fun while it lasted

i hope toney wins, kind of like if tommy hearns came back i would hope for him to beat vitali klitschko.

toney will lose if he gets taken down to just about anybody in the ufc (regardless of weight division) 5 years ago toney maybe not. but nowadays...it is gonna be ugly.

Toney is going to be on Inside MMA tonight. Should be quite entertaining. Maybe he and Bas will go at it on set lol.

He's calling out Lesnar. I hope Toney plans on bringing a gun. Also, it might be a good idea if they use subtitles for Toney. Sounds like he's chewing on a catcher's mitt while he's talking.

Damn he sounds terrible. I'd love to see Toney get down to 205 but it ain't happening.

And I'm quite sure Chuck Liddell was scared.

Lol James really should respect some of these guys before getting in the cage with them. He said Fedor is one-dimensional and will crumble once he gets hit. :notallthere:

If you didn't see it, you guys should try and catch last night's Inside MMA. Very entertaining. Toney is showing the sport zero respect and really believes he's just gonna walk in and KO anyone and everyone he faces. He actually called Fedor 'one dimensional'.

Ray Mercer on the other hand, seems to be showing MMA a lot of respect. Mercer will be fighting in April at a King of the Cage event that will be aired on HDNet. He admitted he was overwhelmed in his match against Kimbo and was scared to death when he got taken down.

They also interviewed Freddie Roach who, like everyone, says Toney is gonna get killed in his first fight. He also said of all the boxers he's worked with, Pacqiauo would be able to make the best transition to MMA based on his speed.

Roach also said that MMA has a brighter future than boxing, and blamed the promotors for that, bringing up how MMA stacks their undercards and boxing you have a main event and nothing else. He said he told Bob Arum that needs to change, and Arum got mad at him.

Good show overall. Inside MMA is always a great show, and I've said it many many times, if you don't have HDNet, you're not an MMA fan.

The only way Toney see's 185 is if he gets his legs amputated or gets AIDS.

Sounds like Roach is given the same reasoning I did for being more interested in the Mir-Carwin card than Mosley-Mayweather. Blasphemy. He better not let Reed hear that.

    :shit:

Roach Also Said Manny Pac would have "No Problem" w/Random Drug Testing, which Ended Up Being FALSE...Roach ALSO Said that Manny Pac was "Afraid of Needles", Until COUNTLESS Pics of him Getting TATS Surfaced...Needless to Say, Freddie Roach is Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from Being a Soothsayer...He Talks Out of his ASS Soooooooo Frequently, there's FECES on his Dental Floss...But hey, if CLINGING to Roach's UNFOUNDED Opinions (AND Dragging REED Into this Nonsense) Makes YOU Feel Better about SELLING OUT the Sport U Supposedly "Love", REED Doesn't Give a Shit...

I was having a little fun over Roach basically echoing my issue with boxing. Chiefly that would be the biggest names not fighting each other because of politics and promoters. And PPV cards that hold little value.

And man, after watching the undercard and main event last night, I couldn't be more sure that even the most mediocre UFC card is more entertaining.

But by criticizing the faults with boxing, I hardly think I'm turning my back on the sport. I love the sport. But right now I get far more enjoyment from watching old fights than anything that's happened recently. And by the same token, I would bet money that the 'UFC on Versus' card this week will be more entertaining than the Pac-Clottey card.

Seriously Reed, as a boxing fan and a casual MMA viewer, can't you see a little merit in my statements?

Trust me, I'm not putting stocking in comments by Roach, but what he said had a lot of truth to it.

You guys really need to find a middle ground here. Both sports have put on some stellar cards, and both can put on some bullshit cards "Liddell/Ortiz, Hopkins/Jones. It is what it is.

Reed, either discuss MMA intelligently, or don't discuss it at all. This isn't the Boxing Forum, this isn't TAAA. If you come here with no other purpose than to stir shit up, your posts are gonna be deleted. If you continue, you will be banned.

    This is your warning.

televised. I doubt there are any non-televised cards that were stellar. That would make no sense IMO

Reed has spent the last several days filling this thread and the Ortiz\Chuck thread with nothing but garbage. Most of his posts had nothing to do with MMA, but instead were attacks on me. I made the mistake of engaging in it myself, attacking him back. Then I realized I was breaking my own rules about keeping discussion in the MMA forum straight, with no bashing each other and stuff like that, so I told him that it was gonna stop, and gave him an opportunity to post the last word, just out of fairness.

But then he didn't stop. He started up again, I deleted his post, he did it again, I deleted again, he did it again, I deleted it again and gave him the warning, he posted again pretty much telling me to fuck off, so I deleted it and gave him 3 days. I also deleted all the bashing posts from both threads that were personal attacks and had nothing to do with MMA.

I don't want this forum to be like Sherdog, where you can't post an opinion without other members jumping down your throat and bashing you left and right. Reed has a history of not being able to discuss topics intelligently without it breaking down into personal attacks. There are countless examples of this on the Boxing board and TAAA. I'm not going to allow that here.

I don't mind the anti-MMA sentiment from the likes of RJP4P, Joe King and others, including Reed, as long as it's not distracting and doesn't develop into personal attacks and bashing posters. If it's just a post or two, whatever, I let it go, but if it continues on, especially after being warned, I'm gonna do something about it.

This is a good board to discuss MMA. I'm not gonna let it disolve into a place like Sherdog, or even our boxing board, that allows constant fighting and bickering between members. If people want to do that, they can do it in TAAA. But when that goes on here, it's detrimental to the MMA Forum. And as long as I'm Mod of this forum, I'm not gonna allow it to happen, and it doesn't matter who the poster is that does it.
