David Haye vs Vassiliy Jirov at 200

Who wins?

 

Haye was not very proven at cruiser but he could hit hard and Jirov was there to be hit so I think Hayemaker has to be the favorite. If he didnt get Jirov out early it could be a difficult fight for him though

 

Agreed. Jirov took plenty of shots from Joe Mesi and almost pulled that one out.

What's Haye's stamina like?

 

Jirov never met a punch he could avoid, and his chin wasnt anything special. I'll take Haye by KO, and I'm hardly a Haye fan.

 

Joe Mesi was a bum.

 

I agree. You've never seen me praising the guy.

I picked Jirov to win that fight actually. Mesi at the very least could punch a little bit too.

Also Jirov moved up to heavy for that fight. Let's also remember that the cruiserweight limit at the time Jirov was in his prime was 190.

 

At the time I knew Mesi sucked, but I thought he would KO Jirov. The fact that HE nearly got KO'd was a testament to how terribly bad Mesi was.

Haye is no second coming, but he's leagues above Mesi. His handspeed and power would be too much for Jirov.

 

Is this fight @ 190?

You might be right about the outcome anyway, but i certainly think it makes a difference.

What's it say about the cruiser-weight division (or Ring Magazine), that the supposed best cruiserweight in the 00's is seen by many to not be very proven at the weight.
