First of all, let's keep PEDs out of this topic... I don't really see any weaknesses in Pac's game, but out of each area what is his most weakest that Mayweather or Mosley could maybe exploit? He has inhuman stamina, power in both hands, incredible foot speed, hand speed, solid chin, huge heart, ring generalship, great angles, high output... Maybe his ability to take punches to the stomach? Clottey showed he's also pretty easy to hit with the uppercut so maybe his defense?
Not Only that, but a LEAD Right Hand Too...Clottey LANDED the Majority of Left Jabs & Lead Right Hands that he Threw... Those R Floyd's 2 FAVORITE Punches These Days.... REED:hammert:
:: Pac Actually Cut his Post-Fight Press Conference SHORT, so he Could Get Over to his Concert, which Charged $100 per Person... REED:hammert:
ring generalship, great angles, high output... His boxing IQ will be his down fall. Pac-man has great foot speed and uses the Saw-Paw hook since being tought by Mike Moore briefly, but Manny offen does the same things sometimes 3 a more times in a row. This will neutralize his speed against Mosley or PBF.
Pacquiao is as close to the perfect fighter that you can get...but... He's hittable. Cotto hit him frequently..so did Morales, Marquez. He's susceptible to the jab as well as the straight right. Mayweather has the tools to exploit this...Mosley doesn't.
Marquez provided the blueprint for beating Pac, despite never officially beating him...:: You need to be as sharp a counterpuncher as possible, throwing combination counters as Manny rushes in. Decent body punching would help a lot, too. Also, you also need to have a great chin and heart, because eventually Pac will land something and his left hand power punch is lethal. It's a lot easier said than done. Only Floyd has a realistic shot of pulling it off right now IMHO. MTF
I agree with this. Opponents who look for openings & counter can disrupt Manny's rhythm by catching him as he rushes in to punch. Once he gets in, he launches into huge punch flurries and it becomes difficult (but not impossible) to catch him. But as he comes in, a good jab, or a well timed short left/right, maybe a little check hook can crack him and then he stops in his tracks. Manny is usually so fast, and fighting opponents who are slower and more defensive, that he pretty much can rush in at will without paying much of a price. And when he does this his hands are often down below his head as he kind of uses his arms to help him balance as he moves his head. It's why the fight with Floyd is so attractive. PBF keeps his eyes open, always looking for that opening to whip in a punch his opponent doesn't see coming. If you keep popping Manny as he comes in to punch (which is pretty much what he is doing 99% of the time in the ring), you take away a huge chunk of what he relies on, and you change the fight.
his weakness is his ability to get schooled by a guy who can move and box and counter punch...like Morales and JMM
