Wow. How good was that left hook from Oscar? Quick and lethal. Hadn't seen that in awhile.

    RJJ - John Ruiz

RJJ had been a hw tease for years and when he turned to his annual hw talk, Ruiz, who was desperate for a big fight and respect, called his bluff and accepted Jones lopsided deal. Even so, RJJ seemed unwilling to sign for the bout and Ruiz camp was basically calling Jones a coward. To the surprise of many, Roy finally signed for the bout. Bad blood between the two brewed on Jones unwillingness to promote the fight ( Ruiz purse was eniterly dependant on the sale ) cumulating with Ruiz dressing as a pimp at a press conference and telling that he would catch Jones like a pimp catches his hoe. Came fight night, save from the 1st round, Ruiz performance was listless. Whether it was because of his recent divorce, incapacity to cope with Jones hand speed, getting his nose broken ( many claimed Vazquez quit job in Marquez I was justified because his nose was broken, so Ruiz going 12 with one should get some props form these people )or Nady over officiating, Ruiz offered his worst performance ever ( he was simply caught vs Tua ) and was pot shotted all night long by the smaller man. Subsequently, made it much harder for him to get the respect he so desperately craved for

LOL. Lots of excuses here for Ruiz. How about he was a crappy excuse for a "champion" and that's exactly why Jones fought him?? Ruiz's biggest claim to fame is being a heavyweight "champion" who managed to get his ass handed to him twice by former middleweight champs. Ugh. I won't miss having to see Ruiz even a little bit.
