I wouldn't argue with any of this. For any number of reasons, there is no doubt that Floyd is a stellar PPV attraction.

However, Cotto is a PPV name himself and that fight was arguably last years numero uno contest. Clottey, by contrast, is a nobody to anyone outside the fight game. 700,000 is a big number for such a fight and compares VERY well to any number of Floyds previous, pre-Dela efforts as well as some of Pac's pre-Dela efforts.

Mr. REED Im gonna say this again - Pac & Floyd were both MADE as attractions by their Oscar nights. Marquez-Pac happened before, Marquez-Floyd, after. It's just a little tiresome to keep reading that comparison brought up as if you actually think it persuades anyone. But out of curiosity, what do you think Mayweather-Clottey would have done? I honestly think similar or AT MOST 50-100k more. And if you'd asked me before Pac-Clottey what numbers it would have done I would have predicted about 700-750k. I dont think these numbers have taught us a thing that hasn't already been established or changes the perceived balance in drawing power one inch.

    REED Gets That...

The Problem is, Mr. FEEBLES was Suggesting that Pac is Doing JUST FINE w/Out Floyd...N "Regular People" Terms, that's TRUE, but in Elite Level BOXING Terms, it ISN'T...700,000 PPV's is a Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar Cry from what Pac-Floyd would Do...

Like 3x FEWER, Bare MINIMUM...More like 4x FEWER N Actuality...Pac-Floyd will Approach 3 MILLION Sales...Floyd-Shane will DOUBLE the Sales of Pac-Clottey & Sugar Shane will B a SMALL Reason Why...Yet We're HONESTLY Supposed to Sit here & Act as if Manny Pac DOESN'T Need Floyd Mayweather???...

Since I think Floyd is a MARGINALLY bigger draw than Pac, and I do mean marginally, I suspect he probably would have done about 750k.

Why NOT???...He Did a MILLION w/Marquez, who's NEVER Been a Proven Draw...Floyd vs. Clottey IN COWBOYS' STADIUM Wouldn't have Done Worse than Pac-Clottey, N REED's Opinion...

I bet even Hopkins doesn't mention anything about Roy's 1st round KO loss in Australia on the press tour.

They'll do their best to pretend it never happened.

True that, I think even the casual fan will see through this dash for cash exercise. If mosley-mayweather is titled "who r u picking?", hopkins-jones should be "who r u kidding?"

I've read somewhere that the million buys for Mayweather-Marquez was counted using FUZZY math.

In close circuit events and in theaters, each paying customer were counted towards final numbers, instead of each individual home or business buying the event as it was traditionally done.

The fight didn't sell out in Vegas. I'm curious as to what the overall REVENUE was for the fight.

I would subscribe to a streaming audio file, where Manny ruffles the cash between his fingers through the microphone,.. Mmmmm lots and lots of money, imagine all that money?...how much? how much?.. I'm on the edge of my seat,..mmmmmm, it makes me happy that Manny is getting so much, I dont want any, I want Manny to have it all, good things come to good business, it's part of the celebration really, those broke ass humanitarians should've persued an endeavor to hurt people instead of helping them, then they wouldn't be crawlin' through a river of 3rd world filth n' dead baby's n' shit.

    I'd heard something similar...

When the numbers came out, no one in the industry believed it. In fact, word had it that Golden Boy didn't clear as much as one would believe. they spent a ton in adverstising.

Pac vs Clottey, based on salary...PPV...the site fee and ticket sales...made money.

Your theory would hold water if it weren't for a few points.

    1. I'm no a Pac fan

    2. What do I have to gain by saying this now when there's no fight between the two.

Now let's review the facts...your ass disappeared not long after Floyd retired and only reappeared to reup with the Floyd Cocksucking crew when Floyd came out of retirement.

That is true, is it not? :dunno:
