Why would I disappear? I haven't made a pick yet between JDS and Velasquez. At this point I don't know who I would pick between any of the top 4. To me JDS has the best resume and would certainly not be a pushover for anyone.

All I know is I would favor any of those 4, the new breed, over any of the other HW's in the UFC. Period.

And the new breed has nothing to do with who any of them have beaten or haven't beaten. It has to do with all of them having solid fighting backgrounds AND being in that 245-265 range and not fat.

You would know the difference if you've really followed the sport. Silva:atu:

Yay!!! That sure says a lot. A division of 7-8 guys who are either on the fence regarding their future(CroCop), wanting to become B-movie actors(Herring), or plain old shot(Nog).
Not a great stable of heavyweights by any means. Which makes the top 4 guys look that much better.

No debate about it. And if you had better reading comprehension you would know this from my first post where I said they were a couple of tiers above the rest.

It'll be a more even playing field once a couple of these boys start knocking eachother off.

When you say new breed to Hanzy he immediately thinks a Hybrid between and vamp and a warewolf. Guys that have superhuman strength, heal within seconds and dont lose:lol:

No Hanzy. We are talking about guys that are solid all around, spend hours training, big 260 pound motherfuckers that are in exceptional shape and have the speed of passed middleweights.

Its not like they cant lose. They arent immortal Hanzy.

Exactly. They could lose. And certainly they all will before their careers are over.

My point is that it is highly unlikely that any of them lose to the next tier of HW's in the UFC.

Seriously any idiot can see that this is a new type of HW. That's no slam to guys like Nog or Couture. It's just the way the sport is going. 265 pound guys that can move and punch like Carwin and Lesnar is ridiculous.

I just have to remember that Hanzy isn't just ANY idiot. He's a special idiot.

BTW you are not alone either. Randy Couture agrees with you. He said basically the same thing on Inside MMA not too long ago.

He didn't have to say anything. His actions spoke loudest. Fleeing to 205 loudly stated he knew he had no place in the 265 division.

I disagree. I think every individual, big or small, has their own skill set which makes them unique. You're just spoiled by having 2 big strong guys fighting in the same era which we don't get often in the UFC. Remember, we all were in love with Arlovski in 2005 who was no small man himself until he got his chin checked. Prior to then, he was the champ and a beast.
Lesnar and Carwin are still running on hype. First off, we have absolutely no idea how they're going to fare when they get cracked really f*cking hard on the chin. From what I saw of Carwin, I think his chin is shaky to be honest. Same with Lesnar.
They haven't really fought all the best fighters in the world. They've done relatively little thus far compared to the likes of Fedor and Noguira who both have fought over 30 professional fights. Lesnar with his 3-1 UFC record and Carwin with his 9-0 record isn't quite what legacies are made of. We'll see how their careers unfold once they've had another 15-20 fights over the next 7-8 years of professional fighting the same way Nog and Fedor have done.
Just my opinion. Don't H8! :nono:

What do you mean? Randy jumped from heavyweight to light heavyweight in 2006-2007 as well...long before Lesnar and Carwin were around.
And by the way, Lesnar didn't exactly fight a prime Couture. A prime Couture would've given Lesnar a MUCH more difficult fight than he did. Couture was a bag of brittle bones against Lesnar and still gave Lesnar a fairly good fight.

OK, I have to say it one more time just because it doesn't seem like I'm getting thru.

I am not electing any of the four to the UFC Hall of Fame. I am simply saying they are a new breed of HW fighters simply in the sense that they are bigger, in great shape and have solid combat sport backgrounds.

This isn't a HW division that will allow a Randy Couture to bounce up and compete. It's not a division where a Nog can rely on his chin to withstand punches. It's not a division where wild swinging toughman-types can compete. It's also not even a division where Tim Sylvia can win because of moderate boxing skills and reach.

    It's different damn it!!!!

What's with all of this "new breed of HW". There are currently 2 of them, and that don't even have enough experience to tell us anything. Let these guys get some more wins before we label them anything.

I know. "New breed of heavyweight"...whatever the f*ck that is!
Cain is a "new breed of heavyweight" because he's 6'1, 241lbs and has a blue belt in BJJ and some wrestling skills and a bit of boxing skills. All the while holding the most unbelieveable incredible stupendous record of 8-0!!!!!!!
    Whatever!

Sorry but IMO, the Randy Couture who fought Tim Sylvia and Gabriel Gonzaga would not be a small feat for Cain Velasquez. Don't let the Lesnar loss fool you into thinking Randy at his physical best is a pushover. He was giving Lesnar the business till the punch to the ear and that was already a Couture who had been inactive for over a year which was bad for him as a fighter, not to mention he was deteriorated and old. I'm not convinced Cain beats the 2007 Randy Couture who beat Gonzaga. Just my opinion.

when Fedor was 8-0 people recognized that he wasnt like everyone else.

  17. Hanz

    Hanz Roberto Duran

He cut up Lesnar's eye with a punch and was giving as good as he got. Lesnar's physical superiority was beginning to show but Couture made a good account of himself for a washed up old man.

  18. Hanz

    Hanz Roberto Duran

LOL! Fedor was never 8-0. He lost in his 5th pro fight, making him 8-1. People began recognizing Fedor after going 15-0 after winning the Pride title from a prime Noguira. Not the washed up pile of scraps whom Cain and Mir feasted on.

Why do I even get drawn into these conversations with people that don't have a clue.

According to Hanz, Cain is a Brazilian with 'some' wrestling skill.

That is like saying Matt Hughes has SOME wrestling skill.

    Completely moronic. I give up.

In context ya geek! I'm not diminishing his abilities but he's not the first SOB to come along with an array of skills which we haven't seen before.
What I find odd is you're taking a line or two of my posts and slapping your forehead in dismay rather than coming up with any argument whatsoever to prove Cain's worth. I know UFC is a business and it's probably good business sense to have Cain and Dos Santos respectively fight for the title but from a fan's perspective, I think both these guys should fight eachother.
From Dana's blog, he wants them both to fight for the title, not eachother.

He was giving Lesnar a FIGHT!!! The younger stronger bigger man won! But Randy for a tiny little sh*t with no strength or power in his old deteriorated state was holding his own quite well until he got KTFO! That's all I'm saying.

Exactly, Fedor was a huge underdog going against Nog. Hell, he was even an underdog against Hearring and Schil in his pride debut. He was lightly regarded until those victories. that was a ridiculously stupid comment

Exactly nothing. There were people recognizing Fedor as on the next level well before that. Not everyone, but some. Just like some now are recognizing uniquness in the Super 4
