Fraudweather would die. Just like he would die against a prime Oscar. It's funny to me how Fraud barely scraped by a completely shot inactive Oscar who was already finished with being a serious boxer. Fraud got by on an SD and his old man believed Oscar won it. LOL!
When Fraud was gone for 2 years, nobody gave a f*ck about him. He won't be remembered, the boring handpicking chicken motherf*cker!
Fraudweather will never be a legend. He'll be forgotten and end up dead in some backalley with several bullets in his head from a guy who wanted his money. Even his old man is saying this.

LOL, why did you choose Mosley Riveira? Mosley struggled and didn't look as good as he would later at welterweight...

For the record, I think the Mosley of 2002 would have given hell to Floyd and would have had a very good shot at beating him.

Floyd never would have faced a guy like that. Rivera was a solid, limited yet tough guy. Floyd wouldn't have wanted to face guys like that. he gave up after the Castillo fights.

Rivera wasn't a bad fighter but got KO'd everytime he stepped up...DLH, Mosley and Vargas.

He made his name in the first (and second fight) with Whitaker but Pea was never a puncher.

I've said it once and I'll say it again...the ONLY version of Mosley Floyd could beat is the one we see now. A younger version of Mosley isn't as patient, but he's got a damn good chin, throws punches in volume and isn't afraid to mix it up. That version of Mosley overtaxes Floyd's natural inclination to go defensive. Mosley's mindset is the opposite.

Sly's Mosley hate is getting annoying.

Floyd isnt a spring chicken anymore. He's 33. I have little doubt that the current Floyd would lose to the 2000-2001 version of Mosley.

I'm much more impressed by Mosley's destruction of Margarito who happens to be better than Rivera ever was.

Mayweather woul dhave never lost to any version of Mosley. None. How's a slugger going to beat a Master boxer when the boxer has proven a good chin himself as well as more stamina?

What, when he was taking on the proven tough talented Welterweight greats: Diaz, Taylor and Stone...or when he fought Vernon Forrest. Of what time do you speak?

He beat De La Hoya, sure, and his ENTIRE "Prime" reputation is based on that one fight...a fight in which Oscar fought with no gameplan, with no desire to avoid punches.

In any event, Shane would have been a difficult fight for Floyd, given Shane's determination, but Floyd is a different class of fighter...

The 2000 Shane had the offensive reflexes to catch Floyd, the workrake to outwork him, and as Muzse said, the aggression to stay on Floyd and overtax his D.

BULLSHIT! Offensive reflexes to catch Floyd my big black ass!

Floyd wasn't outworking a moving target like Mayweather who'd be potshotting him to death. And Mosley didn't have reflexes to match his handspeed.

Aggression to stay on Floyd? Please.

Floyd's style limits to workrate of his opponents'. Look at Corrales' workrate against Castillo in that first fight. Ridiculous. Look at his workrate against the moving target of Mayweather. 5 punches a round of something like that?

When are y'all gonnna get it?

Why didn't post directly what you were really thinking in your first post instead of posting a "prime" shane fight where he didn't look that great? At least I know why you chose the Riveira fight now.

yeah, Corrales and Mosley's style are similar.

    Great analogy.

Put it this way, Floyd had his hands full with Emanual Burton back in the day...remember that KO Nation fight? Burton ended with a busted ear drum and Floyd left with a bloodied nose.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out Mosley is leap years ahead of a guy like Burton. There's a reason Floyd fights certain types of guys...they play best into his style.

It's no different than let's say Ali and Norton. No one would rgue Norton's a better fighter than Ali "however" his style is one which gave Ali fits.

Ironically, I watched Mosley's fight with ceballos and Leija last night. the difference in his hand and footspeed in comparison to where he was lety's say in the winky fights is night and day.

Again...I mentioned Winky...another guy floyd wouldn't fight. Floyd's done a good job of fighting the same kinda guys who accentuate his style.

The Ceballios fight is one of Shane's best performances.

It's easy to mention Winky as a bad boy and all that now, but at the time when Shane first fought him mosley was HEAVILY favoured..and why? Because at that time Winky hadn't beaten ANYONE and even lost to Vargas who Tito had destroyed. So don't act like Shane was extra brave are some other shit. Winky didn't have teh reputation THEN as he did after beating Shane and then tito. Not by a loooooooong stretch.

As for ceballos and leija..that was a lightweight..I'm talking about Sane's welterweight "prime".

Not saying Corrales fights like Shane...but pointing out what Floyd's style can do to a person who otherwises shows decent workrate....anyway why am i explaining this..you're a smart guy...you know what I was trying to say.

As for Burton...Floyd CHOSE to fight him that way...just to show how tough he is. He fought Corrales (in his next fight) with a completely different style, because he knew that Chico was more dangerous. Floyd is versatile.

The Corrales comparion is ridiculous Sly. Look at the issues he had with casamayor...clearly shows he's best coming forward, didn't cut off the ring well so angles gives him problems.

Contrast that with Shane whose footwork would have allowed him to cutoff the ring.

with that said...yes I cited a couple fights at lightweight which gets back to my original point...Floyd wouldn't beat that version of shane either.

And again...Burton had better footwork and was more versatile than Corrales. he gave angles had decent speed all the same. He's a closer fit to Mosley than Corrales. Floyd didn't as much try to fight that way, that's what he had to do.

So essentially you're saying Floyd could have done the same to Mosley that he did to Corrales which doesn't pass the common sense test.

As said, when you have a guy with Shane's offensive mindset and match it with a defense first guy...I go with the offensive guy. I don't see Mosley-Mayweather playing out any differently than Jones vs Toney. Floyd would have given a better account of himself but Shane's pressure and volume of punches would have put floyd in a defensive posture. Shane simply outworks him...not to mention shane had a strength advantage.

And yes, I knew what you were trying to say and I'm pointing out it's a ridiculous comparison.

If we're talking about Shane's prime at 147 exclusively, then let's compare it to Floyd's prime at 147. Who did he fight that was so good at 147? Floyd doesn't have one victory at 147 that trumps Shane's win over DLH or even Margarito.

    Mitchell - non punching southpaw
Baldomir - no power, slow plodding fighter
Hatton - no success above 140
Judah - coming off loss, physical tools, mental midget
    Marquez - Blown up lightweight

    Choose from that list.

Has Sly completely forgotten that Floyd dropped 4 rounds to an old Oscar? Hows he gonna beat a prime Mosley at 147?

Floyd's best shot at beating Shane prime for prime would be at 135. At 147 in Mosley's prime, Floyd gets owned.

    Shane aint fuckin Ricky Hatton!

I could respond, but I wont. You conveniently didn't include De La Hoya, btw. You'll say "but that was at 154lbs"...and I'll counter by saying that this makes it all the more impressive. I'll just be going over old ground.

    "Anyhow"

On May 2nd Floyd will have added the name of Shane. What say y'all then?

As said...his best bet is now. At 135 Shane was too relentless and applied too much pressure. Let's say Sly's longheld thoughts on shane was dead on...he's a speedy slugger.

Floyd had all he could handle with a slow slugger in Castillo who basically stood in front of him.

What would he have done with shane...same aggression, more speed and more angles and a better chin?

Shane was a beast too at 135...

I really see a fight between them in their respective primes as a toss up, at 135 or 147.

Holyfield lost how many rounds to an Old Holmes? Yet he beat Tyson and Bowe.

Anyway we can play these games all night long...

Anyone who knows the sport realizes that Floyd's a better and more complete fighter than Shane ever was.

You could respond and have swiss cheese made out of your arguments...par for the course.

I'll use a line from Mike Tyson when talking to a female reporter prior to the Lemmon fight..."it's best you don't talk no more."

I have to hand it to you sly...everytime your points are addressed and proven wrong you manage to change the variables/point.

Ask about 147 primes and you suddenly want to include DLH while not addressing how shitty floyd's campaign at 147 is.

Now it's about who is a more complete fighter which wasn't in this thread until now. Perhaps you'll create that threat to conviently slink out of this one.

Nothing, cause I'm picking Floyd by clear UD. But a part of me is praying Shane pulls it off just all your years of Floyd nut hugging/Shane hating can be destroyed.

Can I ask a question. Was it the over hand right that put Rivera down or was it the left uppercut. To me it appears that the right hand was partially blocked but landed and the left upper cut didn't look like it landed at all. Can somebody please help a brotha out. I'll Holla 5000
