I'm quite looking forward to this fight. I like Gomi, and I don't mind Millhouse either.

Who gives Gomi a shot? I haven't seen him fight in a while, people say he's shot, but an on form Gomi is capable of beating Millhouse.

Obviously Millhouse is the logical pick though.

I think Kenny takes it with relative ease.

I am actually most looking forward to see Pearson fight again. He impressed the hell out of me with the way he ran through Aaron Riley his last time out.

And Nate Quarry is always fun to watch unless of course they dig up Kalib Starnes again.

Nice card of free TV in the middle of the week. Love it.

If Gomi is as shot as people say, you're probably right, Kenny can fight. I'm rooting for the fireball Jap though.

Pearson is good. I was surprised he beat Winner and won the show. He was one of the guys that seemed sort of average that season, he seemed decent, but nothing special, but evidently he's a very solid fighter.

By the way Trpl - could you tell me how many hours until the fight starts? ET/PT doesn't mean much to me.

Strange, the guy Pearson is fighting looks much bigger than him. Same height but far bulkier.

I'll take Gomi although I'll probably be way off. I think maybe he's with the right people to revive his career. Gomi by strikes.

Gomi looks really slow. Florian will win this without much trouble. Gomi may be done. He needs Kenny to make a mistake and then flash ko him.

Damn it. Gomi really does look shot. He looks slow, sloppy, and honestly - fairly inept.

How the fuck did Gomi become so shot? He hasn't had loads of wars etc, or an exceptionally tough career, and he's only 31.

    :dunno:

Maybe he just lacks drive? I thought he couldn't have been as shot as he appeared tonight for those exact reasons. Looks like I was wrong.

Sucks too, because now boring ass Ben Stiller gets a title shot again probably.

Maybe. I guess sometimes it is mainly mental, you just lose that hunger and desire to fight, and just get in the ring and go through the motions, instead of REALLY fighting.

That's what it looked like tonight with Gomi, BUT, he looked physically slower and sloppier than before too, could be just lazy training I guess.

Florian is a very good fighter, pretty well rounded, but yeah - for some reason he doesn't generate much excitement. I wouldn't call him flat out boring, he's just not that exciting or explosive.

You know how it is. Even though unlikely, you kinda hope for some of these faded fighters to return to old form. I always find myself hoping that Crocop would snap back and get his killer instinct again. Yeah, I know....keep dreaming.

i saw gomi's fight against the sengoku champ whose name i can't remember. he won via knockout, but i think it had more to do w/ his opponent being mediocre than gomi's rejuvenation. either way, i wasn't all that impresssed.

the last time gomi really looked good was vs. pulver in pride and that was several years ago.

even against nick diaz, he was doing well in the first round and pretty much gased out until he got caught on that triangle choke.

i think florian's the best lightweight not named bj penn. he's been beating contenders after contenders and have been doing so in an impressive fashion.

I wouldn't be so sure about Vitor, he has looked alright actually, but he hasn't beaten anyone on the level of Machida - who everyone thought was one of the best fighters in the world, and would whup Shogun.

But I agree on Shogun - he REALLY returned to form that night, against a top opponent. I was proper surprised, I thought he was washed up.

Some of the guys looked alright actually on this TUF, a lot better than the scrubs on the most recent season.

Particularly the cocky afro dude with his huge kicks, and the dorky looking guy with green hair, he seemed to have pretty good all round ability.

Do they make the doors extra weak in the TUF house, so they can stage the coaches breaking through them effortlessly like superheros?

That was a rhetorical question actually, it was clear that the door rampage ripped apart was made of cardboard

Once again I missed it because of work :(

Gomi puzzles me.He's still in his prime(31) but has been fighting like he's 10 years older. Its a shame because I liked watching him fight in Pride.

Gomi isn't what he used to be, but I give Florian a ton of credit for another solid performance.

The thing I like about Kenny Florian is that he is actually working on the tools he will need if he ever gets a rematch with BJ Penn. Unlike Jon Fitch who really hasn't improved, Kenny is really working the jab and overall boxing.

Gomi, with his slowed reflexes, probably isn't a great barometer, but I think Florian's stand up looks much better.

Oh, and I love Big Country calling out Toney.

Toney is no more ready for him than Kimbo was. He would be easy pickings.

I don't understand. Washed up just because of the Griffin loss? Shogun has crazy talent but is not driven nor trains as hard as he should be. He just happened to be up for the Machida title fight and to a large degree, exposed Machida.
