I picked Kess over Ward, but I also admitted from the jump that Ward was tougher for him stylewise then Froch.

Sure, and if Froch had a style similiar to Ward that might mean something. As it is it means nothing.

Plus would Froch have really fared any better vs Ward and Calz then Kessler did? I think not. Ward would make him look like the caveman that he is, and a half way motivated Calzaghe woulda slapped the living shit outta him for 12 rounds.

Ward-Kessler might have changed my mind on Kessler-Dirrell but not Kessler-Froch. Froch is the type of guy that Kessler feasts on.

I said from the jump that if anybody had the style to beat Kess in the Super 6 it was Dirrell. I love Kessler, and I cant stand bitch ass Dirrell, but Dirrell would do a number on Kessler unfortnutely. Too fast, he's a southpaw, and he hits harder then Ward.

BTW - what the Ward fight also proved is that..... Dawson vs Kessler would be a mismach.

I disagree. I'm only judging from 1 performance, but from that one performance, I think it's clear that Ward is significantly better than Dawson. I just don't think Dawson is that good, an average champ, nothing more. Similar level fighter to Kessler actually, just different stylewise. They are both world class fighters, but nothing more than that, they are not elite fighters.

I totally agree with REED about Kessler. Technically very proficient, but so fucking robotic, no passion, no intangibles, no adaptabillity etc.

If you're going to be robotic at least be unflappable, but as mentioned, Kessler gets flustered surprisingly easily.

    Frock by clear UD.

I'm going with Martinez via decision. Faster, more skilled, and hungrier, I believe. Pavlik to me just doesn't have the desire anymore. It was almost like he made some big money, and levelled off. His game was never improved and I question how seriously he's taking the sport these days.

I like Kessler over Froch because of the power advantage. Froch is tough, but he can be hurt and really needs a big win after the Ward showing. I think Kessler will eventually grind down Froch and take him out late.

Ward is in no way, shape, or form better then Dawson.

I got a gut feeling that Froch is gonna knock Kessler out...so i'll go with it.

Martinez, i like a lot vs Pavlik. Too quick, he'll give Pavlik a lot of problems with his angles. Martinez needs to stay disciplined and not stand with Pavlik even if things are going well.

    so...

    Froch KO 10
    Martinez UD

    You'll be proved wrong ;)

At world level, Dawson is pretty average in all areas, and his chin doesn't seem great either.

Ward seems to be someone who fights to the level of opposition somewhat, or perhaps someone who just gives his best performances in big fights.

Kessler looked like SHIT, but Ward also looked much better than he has before.

I would actually pick Ward to beat Dawson right now.

Dawson's performance vs Adamek impressed me way more then Ward's performance vs Kessler.

Chad is the more polished, more fluid of the two at the moment, in adition to being a southpaw.

We'll have a better indication once Ward fights Dirrell. Dirrell is a poor man's Dawson, yet he has a legit chance of beating Ward. If Ward cant beat Dirrell, then you can kiss away his chances vs Dawson.

And Chad is fighting Pascal in August, which is a good lil test. Pascal isnt as technically skilled, or as elusive as Ward, but he has good speed, and he hits harder then Ward. I expect Dawson to beat Pascal in impressive fashion.

Yep, I don't see the hype with Chad either, I was much more impressed by Ward.

Dawson CONTINUES to be the most underrated fighter in the sport. His style isnt crowd pleasing, but its effective.

Ward gets credit for beating Kessler impressively, but what you think Dawson woulda done to Kessler? In the form he had vs Adamek, Dawson woulda stopped Kessler within 10.

Even if Time Shows that Andre Ward was the BETTER Fighter than Chad Dawson, there's NOfuckingWAY Anyone Can Reach that Conclusion Now...Dawson's Beaten Harding, Adamek, Tarver (2x) & Glen Johnson (2x)...Ward's Beaten Kessler, Miranda & NATHAN ELSE...LITERALLY...

    Dawson > Ward...

And he didnt even look impressive beating Miranda.

Ward better hope that Kessler beats Froch(which he will). If Carl pulls it off, Ward's win will be chalked up to either Kessler being over the hill, or not that good to begin with.

Whereas Dawson clearly beat Adamek, and Thomaz has yet to lose since, and has since proven to be an excellent fighter.

Glen Johnson has become overrated. He KO's a Jones who has won almost nada since, and all of a sudden he becomes so good that beating his ass twice in close fights is a big deal. POOP I SAY POOP!

Before he ever got round to beating Jones, Glen was losing title fights at 160 to Sven Ottke and Bernard Hopkins.

Beating his old ass twice, especially in close fights, should not attract too much praise.

Getting off the deck to beat Adamek was a good win, fair play, but barely beating Grandpa Johnson and getting two boring decisions over a shot Tarver do not make you an elite fighter.

Glen Johnson BEAT Tarver Right After Tarver KNOCKED Roy Jones from his Pedastal...& he just Recently STOPPED Yusaf Mack, who Beat the Shit Out of a WORLD RANKED Lightheavy in Chris Henry...

Beating Glen Johnson TWICE is Meaningful...

It's the BODY of Dawson's work that Makes him MORE of an Elite Fighter than Andre Ward is...Dawson ISN'T Everybody's Cup of Tea VISUALLY, but he's 1 of the Most Consistently EFFECTIVE Fighters in the World...

Also, the 1st Win Over Tarver WASN'T Boring in REED's Opinion...It's Becoming FASHIONABLE to Lable Dawson as Such, but he's Been Entertaining MORE times than Not....

agREED (w/All BUT the "Kessler Beats Froch" Part, which he WON'T)...

Miranda was a SLIGHTLY Better Version of Epifanio Mendoza, a Fighter that REED DIDN'T Even List on Dawson's Resume...Yet he's the 2nd Best Name on Ward's Resume...& the Adamek Win Looks Better & BETTER as Time Goes On...

I've said for a long time that Chad is the most overrated champion in world boxing. That isn't to say that he isn't good, but rather to say that he's not as good as people try to say he is.

I mean, sure, he beat Johnson a couple of times, but the first fight was wafer thin and for as much as I like Glen, how good is he really? He went life and death THREE times with Clinton Woods, FFS.

REED would have to Go w/Kessler There, Based on THE FACT that Many Posters Here Labeled him a "Great" Fighter Prior to the Ward Bout...Back Then, REED Said he'd "NEVER Seen a Guy Get Praised Soooooooo MUCH for Achieving Sooooo LITTLE"...

N Dawson's Case, NOBODY has Labeled him "Great", to REED's Recollection...

I've been saying the same thing for YEARS Irish. Behave with the revisionist silliness...:stir:

I hate facebook, and always have. A recent BBC documentary about the evils of Facebook was enough to persuade me that allowing a bunch of rich, geeky scumbags in California access to my personal information to do as they wish was is not the best idea.
