This might be the first Ruiz fight that I rewatch since the Tua and Jones fights.

im a brit and haye is horribly overrated and whats more he's not particularly fast, his punches are telegraphed, he is generally sloppy and his technique is shit.

They are plain faster. They travel at a higher velocity, I have no doubt at all.

And like I said, prime Holy and M Spinks were both faster, clearly. Byrd too.

Haye's power shots are slightly above average speed for a heavy, nothing more.

How can you say Haye would have knocked those guys out? Based on what?

The Valuev and Barret fights? The Valuev, VALUEV fight, could have gone either way. Holyfield and Chagaev were both more impressive vs. Valuev.

Also, Haye is not clearly better than Ruiz was seven or eight years ago.

He's vulnerable, often sloppy has substandard stamina and knows it and below average chin. But his power and ability to land shots clearly makes him very good. He beat Ruiz more convincingly than anyone other than Ruiz. He won a stylistic nightmare against Valuev. He's a good heavyweight and a sight better than Chris Byrd.

And I hate Jim Watt. God how I hate Jim Watt.

He'd get crushed with ease by either Klitschko, I haven't been particularly impressed with Haye at heavyweight, he was a better cruiserweight.

Ian Darke, give yourself a hand across your mouth.

We can do without the BS, at the end of the day.

Haye has NO Chance against anyone of any significance.

He doesn't have late rounds power. He has no stamina. He throws wide, looping telegraphed shots.

He was slumped on his stool, with his arms over the ropes like a grand-dad after a spot of heavy gardening on a Sunday.

    Sky commentary team....:shit:

Ruiz is 38 and looked at least that age.

Povetkin stopped an aging Byrd, does that mean he is better than both Klitschkos?

I think a prime Byrd Vs Haye is a pick em fight, I might even pick Byrd.

I agree, don't get me wrong, he's very flawed but his power and speed makes him a threat to a lot of hw. But I still think a prime Ruiz would have taken him

Agreed. The Klitschkos would put him out cold and quick.

By the way, a prime Tua's left hook was MUCH faster than any power shot Haye throws too.

Haye being a speedster = a myth. Even when I was a Haye fan I said he wasn't particularly fast.

Allot of those shots are sloppy and long and they look slow. Allot of them actually are telegraphed, he seems to throw under fatigue and off balance all too often. But his fastest shots are noticeably faster than Povetkin, considering the distance they travel.

I had high hopes for Haye. I was hoping he could add excitement to the division.

I don't even care if he fights the Klitschko's at this point. And that's saying a lot, I always care.

    What?

They were deathly silent at times.......and a slow clap broke out at one time.

Haye making excuses already......"I had to stop sparring early....."

I mean, we know BS when we see it.......why do they insist on indulging us.

    Joint is SILENT.

I assume he means Tua? What about Roy Jones?

Let's not forget that he was in there with a very old Ruiz and he still had all he could handle.

    Byrd beats Haye.

As Frank said, so does Tua.

I think that the Tua of today could possibly beat him.

What is funny is that it was Ruiz that made this an entertaining fight, not Haye. Ruiz came forwards all night and never clinched, so Haye could just retreat and look for counters. I think Ruiz won three rounds, Haye took the rest.

I don't know why you guys give that much hate to Haye (though I couldn't hear the British broadcasters). He did fine, and his right cross is indeed very quick. In combination punching he loses to Povetkin by mile
