Hopkins will show him TOO much respect early and probably share the first 4 rounds. He's role playing out a personal fantasy that he's fighting the real Roy Jones here; that his victory will make amends for 1993 and all his perceived slights since. The whole thing smashes like Sarah's phony bedroom in labyrinth if he knocks him out early, he doesn't want that. He'll sell it better than that, whether consciously or not and leave it until the 2nd half of the fight to take over and stop him late.

On FNF, Dan Rafael Reported that Roy Had TROUBLE w/his Weight All Week...The 2nd Attempt @ 175 FUELS Rafael's Report...

But As a FAN of Roy Jones, it's GOOD to See him ANIMATED @ the Weigh-In...It's a SURE Sign of CONFIDENCE, which is Something Roy has LACKED in Most of his Losses....Roy GENUINELY BELIEVES he'll Beat Bernard Hopkins & Based on the Way he INVADED BHop's Space, Making BHop TURN AWAY to Avoid a Face to Face Confrontation, a PART of Hopkins Believes it Too...

    WAR RJ!!!

If he is lucky, this is as exposed as he will get. He'll need to be VERY lucky, though...

The problem is that he has no chance at all. None. I've always liked RJJ and I rate him higher than any fighter of my lifetime other than Pacquiao, but he is going to get the shit kicked out of him.

It's a terrible state of affairs.

Too little too late. Why didn't he show that same sort of determination against Calzaghe and Tarver (3)?

I have to agree though. RJ seems genuinely confident. This will make him a better fighter than the one who faced Calzaghe and Tarver (and that Aussie Bum). Hopkins does seem a little unsure of himself I must say.

We'll see how it plays out but...

I think that Hops just couldn't be bothered with the pre-fight histrionics.
The biggest threat to Hopkins is underestimating Roy, based on his last performance.
Like I said in the other thread. Hops by UD. he won't try to destroy RJJ.
I don't think that they would have talked about it perse, but it will be a tacit agreement. Much like Tito-RJJ.

B-Hop is going to beat the shit out of this shot mutherfucker.

Roy has talked shit before a lot of fights and has been dusted off in a lot of them as well.

Contrary to popular belief, all of that shit talk is not all about being confident, it's about gaining confidence and convicing himself that he's something he no longer is.

Under normal circumstances, Jones' previous win over Hopkins would mean something. After 17 years, and with numerous recent knockout loses, including a recent 1st round blowout to a can of juice, Hops kicks his ass and makes him suffer while doing it.

B-hop, via brutal 12 UD, unless Roy's glass whiskers show up first.

Does Roy now have 7 losses? Unimaginable at one point.
