Mayweather vs Mosley is a HUGE fight for us boxing fans. In some ways, bigger (for us) than Mayweather-Pacquiao would have been. It's less than a month. I absolutely cannot wait.

What are your final predications (be as specific as possible)

    Mine:

Mosley's corner retires him after the 11th round. I think he's going to start out trying to box floyd and make Mayweather come to him. Mayweather will be winning the contest of jabs and counters in the centre of the ring...but still the early rounds will seem close.

Shane will start getting frustrated around teh 4th round after getting stunned a couple times by sneaky "check hooks" from Floyd and will come out guns blazing.

Floyd will then pick him off with surprising ease. I feel that Floyd will be super-sharp in this one and will simply tattoo Shane.

Down the stretch Shane will be fading (age and inactivity will have caught up to him) and Floyd will be tagging him at will...and will be more agressive than usual, trying to make a statement.

Shane's corner would have no choice but to rescue him after the 11th round (Shane still game though) as it would be apparent that he wouldn't win the fight.

So you're saying PBF manages to stop Mosley because he's old and inactive? Dully noted.

    Floyd wide UD.

My reasoning: Shane SUCKS going forward, he's reaching, wild and impatient and all his best performances have been guys who came to him throwing. I think this was actually a bigger factor in his relative success at lightweight vs higher weights than size - there are more mexican & latino fighters at lightweight than above! Shane's a born counter puncher but with the mentality/impatience of a brawler.

Floyd is basically the polar opposite of the guys Shane has historically looked good against. It'll be kinda competitive thru rounds 5-9, but I see Floyd pretty much having his way here, though in his customarily negative, avoidant manner.

Correct. I don't believe Floyd would have stopped a PRIME Mosley. Still...although Shane is older and inactive he's still a THREAT considering he KO'd Vargas, Margarito and Mayorga. Would still be impressive.

Floyd by UD. Fight will be like most of his others against fighters who can realistically make welterweight or higher - Shane has his moments throughout the first five, Floyd boxes (and probably runs a bit as well) and takes nearly every round from the sixth onward.

Incidentally there are no ways in which Mosley-Floyd is bigger than Floyd-Pac would have been. None.

Yes, you're right, Wright & Forrest both held their ground and Wright actually cut off the ring. But they did so as counter punchers, reacting to Mosley's initiative & openings, not aggressive pressure fighters. There's more to boxing strategy than what you're doing with your feet and position in the ring. Floyd for instance usually holds his ground for large swathes, he's not a big mover with his feet, at least not at higher weights. But he's a 100% counter puncher, reacting to openings, not systematically trying to force them. Margirito on the other hand forces the action, with his hands as well as his feet. Oscar did the same in the first fight and Vargas for most of both their fights, trying to take advantage of what they perceived as size and strength advantages. Oscar was smart enough to change tact completely in the re:.

I was wondering if nobody had picked up that. Sly is reacting as if this was Leonard-Pryor made happen, instead of the warm-up it actually is,

Mayweather dominates with his speed and leaves no counter opportunities to the very faded Mosley, who gets stopped late

Shane will be aggressive, throwing combos and trying to inflict as much damage as possible, but, will not have much success getting through Floyd's defense and will get beaten to the jab. The first 4 rounds should go in favour of Floyd by 3 rounds to 1 (but the judges may have it even after 4 rounds)

Floyd from round 5, after a cautious start to the fight, will begin to trade more, landing at will and hurting Shane with some devastating combos (Floyd may even have Shane down in round 6, 7 or 8)
Floyd will be ahead in the fight now and in control of the fight, but still wary of Shane.

The last few rounds will see Floyd pummeling Shane and will see Shane going into survival mode and trade ferociously knowing he's behind in the fight and will go for the KO, but, Floyd will be too smart and not allow himself to become erratic. The fight will come to a conclusion and the judges will have Floyd as winner on all 3 scorecards.

so you're saying Mosley will lose because he won't be on steroids? Implying that if it weren't for the testing, he would be on steroids? And in that case, he'd win? So in other words, Mosley is on steroids in what, every "other" fight he's in? Every fight he wins? Does he ever lose when he is on steroids? If he does, does that mean that PBF can't do what others already have (beat Mosley while he's on steroids)?

And while we're on this kick of making assumptions about who does what with seemingly no constraints, I'll throw this one out.

Mosley and PBF will not in actuality be subjected to PED testing (even though they claim as a pair that they will). This will serve the following purpose:

    1. Mosley will be allowed to take whatever PEDs he wants
    2. PBF will be allowed to take whatever PEDs he wants
    3. As far as PEDs go, the two can be confident they're on an even playing field
    4. Pacquiao will be made to look bad, while PBF and Mosley (both promoted by GBP) will look like saints. And yet PBF will not have had to adhere to the strict testing he himself claimed to want to impose on Pacquiao
    5. Win or lose PBF can go on ducking Pacquiao under the pretense that he plays by the rules (and Pacquiao doesn't), yet carry on his own career of dousing himself in PED magic

You're kidding yourself if you don't think PBF uses PEDs. The reason he's confident Pacquiao uses them is that he himself does.

What's wrong with PEDs amongst GBP promotees. Nothing? Especially when the one selling tickets isn't the one who hasn't fought in over a year, and who is nearly 40 years old.

What's wrong with PEDs amongst PBF and Pacquiao? In Pacquiao, PBF won't have the PED advantage, and he won't have the skill advantage.

If anything, JMM's piss-drinking was his own strange way of standing up to what he knew would be a PEDDED up opponent who he otherwise felt he lacked the "PED sophistication" to beat.

PBF doesn't like to fight fellow PED users. It's why he ducked Mosley initially. And it's why he ducked Pacquiao. He's breaking his own rule to face Mosley, having painted himself into a corner. But he has no intention of facing Mosley without his precious PEDs.

You heard it here first. PBF is one of the biggest PED abusers in the sport. It accounts for his unusual stamina. His consistency. His training regime and just about everything else.

By the way, PBF's fight with N'dou was his first fight with next generation PEDs.

I don't have proof !!! You think if I had proof I wouldn't have cited it? Besides, a lack of proof doesn't mean it isn't true. We all know that.

    If anyone's a PED-monger, it's PBF.

Just watch the N'dou fight. There's no way he could've fought toe-to-toe with N'dou the way he did had he not been on PEDs.

No, I'm not saying he will lose because he isn't on steroids,.. he'll probably lose because Fraud will pot shot his way to another eye searing stinking victory as he usually does.

I'm willing to give Fraud the benefit of the doubt that he hasn't relied on ped's based on his confidence to fight each opponent from here onwards without them, we all know when Fraud displays insecurity about particular things, but on these grounds he's confident,.. whereas Pacquiao is SCARED SHITLESS, fundamentally unravels quite literally, at the thought of fighting without his 'magic potion', I don't believe the USADA has been brought out as just a 'front' designed to make team Pacquiao look bad (they made themselves looks as bad as they are), the USADA executed thier integrity by barring a member of Pacquiao's current strength and conditioning team, Trevor Graham, for ceaseless drug scandals and his critical involvement with BALCO,..ofcourse the commission by contrast willingly allows Graham, a ruthless and chronic offender, to work with boxers, particularly Pacquiao.

I have never said anybody, on either side, is an angel, infact it is my belief, that they are ALL scum,... from Golden Boy's perspective it's a competitive business move,.. Arum is suceeding in his indulgence in flagrant corruption, and so they pop out the 'ethics card' to bring him down,.. if it were reversed, Arum would do the same thing,..

Fraud is a piece of shit,.. I preferr to put a label ontop of him,.. 'Random advanced drug testing' vs Mosely,.. because that's what I want to keep prevailing,.. not Fraud,.. the testing clause,.. because I know this 'ethics implementation' will flush out alot of rats on a much broader scale,... it's an entitlement every fighter who doesn't need to rely on performance enhancers, should have the right to keep.

I'm positive that whatever contract GBP has with the USADA, it provides for strict confidentiality as to the results of testing. And since by the laws of the commission, neither fighter is required to pass the tests in order to fight, and since Mosley and PBF have an agreement (as described above), there's no reason, there's no fucking reason, that because they're having Olympic testing that either fighter is going to pass.

    Don't you see?

PBF found the one bluff Pacquiao absolutely couldn't call him on (and PBF had to be sure of that).

You're crazy if you think PBF doesn't use PEDs. And you're crazy if you think he won't use them against Mosley.

Why do you think PBF uses PEDs? His stamina? His chin? His power? His physique? His success at the higher weights? His jawline? What?

I pretty much believe that all of the best fighters in the world, especially those with as much to lose as PBF, use PEDs. And that includes Pacquiao, Mosley, PBF, Hopkins, and RJJ.

I think that especially fighters like RJJ and PBF, who admire and have relationships with other American athletes, like basketball players, use PEDs.

There's no doubt in my mind PBF uses PEDs.

Let me get this straight...so the posturing for PEDS testing is based on Golden Boy knowing they can payoff the USDA so PBF passes and manny fails.

    Yes?
