Not a bad card, it might actually be PPV worthy.

    • Champ Jose Aldo vs. Urijah Faber (for featherweight title)
    • Champ Benson Henderson vs. Donald Cerrone (for lightweight title)
    • Mike Brown vs. Manny Gamburyan
    • Anthony Njokuani vs. Shane Roller
    • Antonio Banuelos vs. Scott Jorgensen
The Faber-Aldo fight has the ingredients to potentially be FOY material. And the rematch between Cerrone and Henderson should be another great one.

It is a good card, borderline great card. It will do horrible numbers in PPV. The little guys just don't sell alot of PPV's. Brown/Gamburyan is gonna be a good fight as well.

Am I the only guy who thinks if Aldo wipes his ass with Faber that he is waaaay to talented for the WEC and should look to challenge Penn?

If he runs through Faber like he did Brown, I would love to see him jump to 155 and challenge Penn.

The problem goes back to what you said about the little guys. As much as hardcore fans would be excited about seeing Aldo-Penn, the casual fan would have no idea who Aldo is or why he's getting a shot at Penn.

Personally I have no problem with this event being PPV but it should be a $24 price tag. Smaller guys; smaller demand; smaller price tag.

Aldo could fight Florian or Maynard and then get the shot. I think he'll be a beast at 155. Would love to see Aldo vs Penn.

I can agree with this. My problem with the ppv is I don't think any of these fighters have that much of a national following to be ppv draws yet. I personally would pay 25$ for this card and feel confident I was getting a great deal. But most fans have no idea who any of them are. Even Faber. He is huge in California, but the casual fan in Kansas City has no idea who he is.

This has sort of krept up...you'd think on the last FN card that Zuffa would promote the shit out of this event, especially as for the first time ever they are asking fight fans to hand over money for a WEC event. Instead we had to sit through a banal exchange between BJ Penn and Mike Goldberg.

Don't know why it bothers me, Zuffa missing an opportunity to plug an event....maybe, partly as a result, the PPV flops and WEC never do one again so it'll be a good thing. But then why does that bother me?...cos i watch PPVs without paying anyway. adamiw - easily bothered.

Fuck PPV. I would love to see this card but there is no fucking way in hell I would pay to see it. Strikeforce will get the same treatment if they go PPV. Lower level shows should never be on PPV!

Exactly, I can live with PPV when it's some really huge fight ( Pac-Maywheater for example ) or card (UFC100, even thought I didn't think it was as good on paper as some thought it was ), but nowaday, it's ridiculous. I feel like I'm helping the sports ( MMA and Boxing ) by catching these type of fights on stream as, if they lose money, the would be shown on TV and the fan base would grow

Agreed, PPV should be reserved for huge fights only. I hate the fact that there is basically 1 or 2 PPV's a month between boxing and MMA. It's too much.

I think the card is a good one and should be very entertaining, but with the glut of PPV's this year, I just can't justify getting every one of them.

Right there with you man. It will correct itself. When PPV's like this one bomb in numbers and you know the ppv between Liddell and Tito 3 will bomb it will make them reconsider.

Let me add to my comment that it makes it even less feasable to order every PPV when you consider the insane amount of MMA that has become available on free\cable TV. You've got the UFC Fight Night and Versus cards, Strike Force on Showtime and CBS, Bellator every week starting this Thursday and HDNet always having a card on Friday nights, be it KOTC, MFC, K-1, Dream, etc.
