Oh God, give it a rest. As if you are somehow important.

    You said in this topic...

"a fighter is as good as his last performance...and so we have to base Shane of his performance against Margarito. "

First you treated us to a cliche, which is always nice. But the second part is bullshit. That might make sense if the Mosley-Margarito fight took place recently. but it DIDN'T. By the time this fight takes place, Mosley would have fought Margarito 16 months ago. It's far too convenient for a Mayweather fan to say something like this.

And the pissing contest courtesy of Stafford continues...making his claims of not wanting to be in one ring very hollow. So much for you wanting to focus on the topic.

    Very true...

How interesting...Floyd's off for 22 months, fights a lightweight at welterweight and it's a great win because his fans wondered if he'd come back the same.

And yet Mosley's off 16 months, comes back against the concensus #2 guy and yet he's held to the standard of his previous fight against a guy Floyd flat out refused to fight.

Not to mention, Shane comes back at 39 while Floyd came back at what...33?

    FloydIdiots are funny.

gimme Mayweather by unanimous decision in a surprisingly boring fight... Mosley does his best when he can use his handspeed to throw a lot of leather at a guy that is right there to be hit, a guy who is also trying to hit him... I don't see Floyd giving him a whole lot to work with... there will be times where Floyd is against the ropes doing the shoulder-roll and Mosley is throwing and hitting nothing and Double L will no doubt promptly write 10-9 MOSLEY on his scorecard... but I look for Mayweather to pot shot his way to a dull but decisive victory against an increasingly frustrated Mosley

Why do people keep saying "surprisingly"?

As if Floyd is usually highly entertaining

Fuck, he cautiously pot shotted to a decision against a featherweight in his last fight, Floyd hasn't been fun to watch since 130, of course it's going to be boring.

I mean surprisingly boring judging against the odd level of excitement many seem to have around here for this fight

Personally, I thought it'd be lame the firsat time I ever heard about it being proposed:lol:

    I guess so.

I mean it IS still a big fight, and I'm still looking forward to it, hoping that Mosley can at least make it interesting, but I also fully expect it to be a boring pot shotting display. I hope I'm wrong of course, regardless of who wins.

I dont think it'll be a dull fight. It certainly isnt gonna be a war like Tito-Vargas, or Mosley-DLH 1, but none outside of the general public is expecting war.

But Shane I believe still has quick enough feet to force Floyd to engauge at times. Plus I have my doubts whether the 33 Floyd of today can move as well as did pre-retirement. I think we're gonna see Floyd box this fight in the pocket, and as a result there could be some compelling moments.

moments sure, but mosley wont be able to put anything together. he'll get tied up and wont be able to work inside where he has the strength edge. i expect to see mosley doing a lot of waiting. the fact that mosley takes a great punch means that mayweather jr wont open up much either since he never does against guys who can take his shots.

    That's an understatement.

Floyd at 147 isn't half as quick as he used to be, for some reason V10 and myself are the only ones who've noticed it. Most people act like he's still the super speedy 130 pound Floyd.

He's still quick, don't get me wrong, but not super quick. He more relies on just pure skill and craft, timing, accuracy etc than speed.

For the sake of excitement, and for boxing.... I hope you're wrong. Everybody I know(even those that dont follow the sport) is talking about this fight, and it'd be great for the sport if both men gave us a good show.

Mosley will wait too much though, which is why he'll lose. Partially because he's old, and cant pull the trigger like he used to, and partially because he'll find Floyd just a weeee bit harder to hit then Margacheato and Vargas.

Not true. People remember the De La Hoya fight because it was a BIG FIGHT and of course the Baldomir fight because it preceeded that one. Two dull fights in a row and suddenly Mayweather is John Ruiz. :notallthere:

    Since 130?

Have you seen the following Mayweather fights:

    Gatti
    Ndou
    Hatton
    Judah

Even Corley and Mitchell fights were far from potshotting safety first affairs.
