I love tito as a Coach. The Triangle escape at the end was probably the single best coaching from any TUF coach. NOt the actual escape, but he actually cares about these guys.

Without a doubt. Much better than Rampage yelling "STANDUP" throughout the entire match.

I was going to say the same thing. Chuck and Tito are not longer relevant, but it's still worth bringing them on as coaches, especially Tito.

Rampage was a fucking disgrace, why even bother agreeing to do it?

If you're going to do it, DO it and take it seriously, like Ortiz is.

Surprised that Clayton was beaten so easily, his stand up and wrestling are pretty good.

Chuck's picks were odd too, BUT, I can kind of see his logic, I think he was picking guys that showed something, guys that were in tough fights but managed to get the W. You can tell more about a fighter from fights like that than just a quick KO or submission, though obviously with fighters that got quick KO's or submissions, you can tell they are capable of getting quick KO's or submissions  So they both have merit.

I agree. I never really liked Tito but the guy is definitely a great coach for this show.

How many other fighters that have had the success Tito had would beg Clayton to give them 1 minute after a loss to teach them something.

Tito earned my respect with that.

I gained respect for Tito when he coached against Shamrock. He trained those guys well and to this day still trains with some of them.

Anyone notice how Chuck's speech is fucked up? I don't want to say brain damage but DAMN! Stuttering, repeating himself over and over.

And of course quotes like these,

"Then we got Howard Davis Jr, Olympic gold memist, great striking coach"

    WTF is a gold memist?

Also, anyone find it incredibly ironic that the king of the excuses, Tito Ortiz, was shitting on Clayton for complaining about his injury? I have yet to see a Tito Ortiz loss, in which he wasn't "injured".

Oh shit, one thing I did find fucking hilarious was Chuck teaching that guy how to throw a punch

Trying to get him to throw his ridiculous, outdated, retarded haymakers

"No son, don't throw the punch straight and crisp like that, telegraph it and throw it right over the top like this, connecting with the inside of your hand, like a dead weight retard punch".

I also found it hilarious how Chuck went "oh" and backed up when the guy did the punch. He must've had a flashback to Rashad Evans.

I disagree....i thought it was very condescending towards Clayton, if not humiliating. Why does he need to be shown that right away?....it was all for the cameras.

For much of the episode he reminded me of the Karate coach from Karate Kid 3....you know, the one with the pony tail. Of course, you've got to motivate your guy and be a taskmaster, but different fighters respond to this aggressive approach differently to others....he must have put it in Clayton's head that he didn't like him...that doesn't inspire self-belief.

And as TLC points out, how many times have we heard Tito cry about injuries?!......'oh see you haven't ripped it?'....yeah, and i'm sure his neck was really broken going into Griffin 2.

And lastly...the pinata thing?...obviously a little gimmick, and a harmless one....until money started pouring out of it!...how tasteless did that look as the fighters scrambled to pick up a dollar or two?...Tito may get the benefit of the doubt on that one as it was probably dreamt up by the same producers who had 'do you wanna be a f***ing fighter?', or whatever that Dana quote was, framed on the wall like it was something Churchill said.

Totally agree. I am a nause, as we like to say in England. I fucking love winding people up, and just teasing people basically.

But there's a difference between light hearted teasing and being an annoying prick. 3am airhorns fits firmly into the annoying prick category, and is especially prickish seeing as their team mates were fighting the next day.

Far from textbook? Understatement of the decade ;)

I've taught girls to throw straighter, crisper punches than Lidell.

    That was some hilarious shit

It reminded me of when I was 9 and my swim coach was teaching me to make the "shark fin" with my arm while doing the freestyle swim.

Not at all. Tito is very loyal to those guys. Did you ever see his first time coaching against Shamrock? His group were so conditioned. So much better than Shamrock's. He tought them all of his secrets and tips. And like i said, he still works with some of them to this day. That was like 4 years ago. He wanted him to learn right away from his mistake. Dont know why, but he had his reasons.

This season is already 100x better than the heavyweights. Agree about Tito, he really thrives in a coaching environment and his team is shit loads better. Besides the Aussie dude who won yesterday, he'll prob win it all.
