I think the opinion around here since the fight was announced was that it would be hard to watch.

That being said, I personally thought it would be boring because Maia would be flopping around for 25 minutes trying to get Silva in his guard. I had no idea the last 13 minutes would be about Maia pressing the action and Silva running like Kalib Starnes.

what's going on with the ufc. The last few events were terrible. That was a joke of an event, will kill any interest in the ME for mma (tough, I think it was mostly foreigner in the crowd).

I don't rebember the last event wich actually entertained me

I have a love hate relationship with MMA.

I've been a fan since UFC 1, since it first came out on DVD, when I was a schoolboy.

MMA can be intriguing and exciting, when you've got 2 good fighters with a good mix of punches/kicks/wrestling etc - but so many MMA fights are absolute shit.

Cards like this really turn me off as an MMA fan.

Like JOM just said, I can't remember the last UFC card I really enjoyed. Even GSP has become boring as fuck, but amazingly, Silva has him beat, makes GSP look downright exciting in comparison.

Penn - Edgar was crap too. I respect Edgar's effort, especially given how undersized he was, but it was like watching two novice boxers of average ability.

Maybe there is a new strategy for Silva. Don't fight until the 5th round and go beserker on him as he gasses out.

I'd really like to see him beaten now, more than any other fighter in MMA.

What bothered me is he kept telling Maia to bring it on, then Maia goes beserker mode and Silva runs away.

Exactly, it seemed like Silva wanted a fight and was pissed off at Maia's reluctance to fight, fair enough, that's why I didn't mind the clowning.

But then when Maia does want to engage, you run away? I mean wtf.

On paper the event was decent but next month there are TWO PAY PER VIEWS FOR THE SECOND MONTH IN A ROW. Add some TV cards and you have a watered down product.

    Even Aldo/Faber is a PPV.

    Machida/Shogun 2-May 8th, PPV

    Rampage/Rashad May 29, PPV

    UFC 115, June 12, PPV

:shit::shit::shit: UFC 100 was in July 2009. It's not even one year and it will be UFC 117 by the time July rolls around. Now add that WEC has a PPV.

    Rampage/Rashad could possibly be free.

    Dana hinted at it.

What would Fedor do against fighters the caliber of Dan Hardy and Damian Maia?

It looks like Davis is going after the Guiness record of having mouthpiece in the longest.

Seems like he's angry for being refused the chance to box Roy Jones. This is his way of extracting revenge on White and the Fertittas.

I have to admit, it would be fucking hilarious if true. One big calculated act to do one on Dana.
