Yeah. That's pretty much how anyone who isn't myopic sees it...

Does Calzaghe-Lacy count? That was as one sided a 'big' fight we have had in YEARS...

All commentators are gonna be relatively biased though mate, in terms of creating excitement though, he has the knack.

Hearns-Duran, and it isn't even close. Making a top ten all-time great look like a complete bum and a joke. Most people would expect Bob Foster to move up and get clipped, but Duran, by contrast, was legitimately crushed for the only time in his storied career. Irresistable force DESTROYS the immovable object.

No but that performance by Ray was just AMAZING...

It didn't seem on purpose, the thumbing.

Oh and I know I know, I said he lacked experience, but 12-0 or not - he was a 3 to 1 favourite over Duran for a reason, and Duran made him look like he didn't even belong in the same ring as him.

But as Erratic suggested, I don't think it's his best win or anything, but it's well worth mentioning, because it was still a superb performance.

Duran's best performances are DeJesus 2 and 3, Leonard 1, and Palomino.

Moving up from lightweight, and clearly beating a prime Leonard is his best win, and that was a virtuoso performance, because Leonard is also one of the best fighters ever.

Haye has slightly above average handspeed, nothing more. Even guys who aren't considered speedsters like Holmes are quicker.

Mex, that was CLEARLY an INTENTIONAL Thumb...Duran's Thumb Hit Moore SQUARELY in the Eye...Moore WASN'T a 3-1 Favorite Based on How GOOD he Is, it was Because of How SHOT Duran was PERCEIVED to B....

& NO, that WASN'T a "Prime" Leonard that Duran Beat..."Prime" Leonard was the Guy that Beat Hearns the 1st Time...

I'll have to watch it again, I don't remember thinking it was intentional.

And that was absolutely a prime Leonard. Not only was it a year or so before he beat Hearns, but it was the very next fight after he looked incredible against Dave Boy Green. Leonard was at his peak around that time.

Agreed. As for the original question posed, it's an impossible one to answer, surely.

to this day, roy jones is the most talented and gifted fighter i've ever seen.

sure, a lot of his opponents were shitty, but the way he demolished bryant brannon and the first and eleventh round of the hall fight left me w/ a feeling that there will never be a guy who's as good as roy jones period.

I also really enjoyed watching Calzaghe beat the shit outta Lacey - didn't know much about leftless hook at the time but the hype was immense and he was coming over to kill Joe

    The rest is history

Wlad - Austin was pretty good,..

Wlad could have said at the final presser that he could beat this guy with one hand tied behind his back.

Maybe it was, but mentioning it in this thread is akin to saying, "Honda Civic is pretty good" in a topic entitled, "Greatest Car Of All-Time?"

Well if Ali said that, then beat up a bum with one hand in 1965,.. [IMG] I'm pretty sure it'd get a mention.

winky shutting down a comebacking tito was probably THE most one-sided fight i've ever seen between two world class fighters. tito didn't win a single minute of that fight.
