Ok I know this has been done to death, but my opinion is just THIS damn important.

    Rd1. Floyd
    Rd2. Floyd
    Rd3. Floyd
    Rd4. Even
    Rd5. Castillo
    Rd6. Castillo
    Rd7. Castillo
    Rd8. Even- minus Castillo point
    Rd9. Mayweather
    RdT. Mayweather-point
    Rd11.Mayweather
    Rd12.Castillo

    Floyd - 115-113

    Comments
    1) Great performance by Floyd, better than I remember. He showed tremendous composure and grit after getting properly roughed up through those middle rounds. Adjusting under that kind of pressure is what great fighters are made of, full credit.

2 Harold Letterman seriously can't score a fight for shit. All he sees is his is own preconceptions: 'who imposing his will', 'who fighting the other guys fight', blah blah. Watch the fucking punching, ass face.

    3) Great officiating re: Floyd's two peculiar cheat moves; the defensive forearm ram and the back turning. Took a point for the former and just allowed Castillo to punch through Floyd's back turn. Perfect responses.

    4) The whole 'one hand Floyd' angle is a crock of bullshit. He threw the left just as hard and just as often as always. The southpaw spells were just an experiment in a hard fight which didn't work and he was told as much by Roger in those middle rounds and subsequently stopped it.

Im not gonna lie: Im disappointed my score card came out this way, I hoped I'd see a Castillo win, but it is what it is.

Good card Hut. I don't typically re-score fights because officials don't have that luxury, but I too had Floyd winning the night of the fight.

Very poorly called fight by HBO.

according to a respected surgeon, mayweather jr had an injured rotator cuff after that fight.

Floyd doesn't southpaw switch unless he is protecting his left. He was undoubtedly injured.

Nevertheless, he won the fight clearly. Your scorecard is good, my scorecard had Floyd winning the fourth as well giving him an even better lead.

Lederman's scorecard was bad that night just as it was on the night Floyd beat Hatton.

Well, I cannot remember the individual rounds, but I do recall having Castillo up by two. I was mildly surprised they gave it to Mayweather. At the time, I was a heart supporter of Mayweather's (that is no longer the case), & I was certainly worried as we came into the last round. My feeling overall, & subsequent scoring, was for Castillo.

With that said, peoples' hatred for Mayweather has led them to severely skew what happened that night. "Robbery" is instantly attached to that fight, simply because it's the closest he's ever come to a loss. My take is this fight should have reasonably gone to Castillo, but it was close enough, maybe, for Mayweather to have edged it, or for it to have been a draw. "Robbery" is slightly too harsh, IMO. Mayweather did better than history likes to recall, but I still thought he came up short.

Arbitrarily picking a winner in even rounds is one of the main causes of shite scoring. If I had my way there would be far more even rounds for EVEN rounds and far more 10-8 rounds for dominant rounds.

Well-said brother. I could not agree more. When I score at home, if I don't feel one guy clearly won, I make it 10-10.

I agree with much of what you said which is why I won't say Floyd lost this fight. I'm pretty sure I didn't keep score when I watched it and even though it looked like Floyd lost, the fight was close enough that me not keeping score made it debatable.

*Castillo 9 lbs Heavier on Fight Night

    1. Castillo's only Punch of Consequence is a Left Jab Early....Floyd Responds w/a Lead Lft Hook...Floyd's Speed is the Story of the Round & Castillo is Fairly Cautious as Floyd Lands Lead Lefts & Rights....Several Left Jabs to the Body from Mayweather...

    Mayweather's Round 10-9

    4. Castillo is More Aggressive, but Lands Virtually NATHAN, til a Jab & an Uppercut Late...Floyd Wins Looooooooooooonger Stretches of the Round on Left Hand Dominance...

    Mayweather's Round 10-9

    5. Good Round for Floyd...He's Mobile, Causing Castillo to Miss & When he Does, Floyd Makes him Pay...Left & Right Hand Counters...Left Jabs from Floyd...Big Counter Later Causes Castillo to Spin...

    Mayweather's Round 10-9

    6. Tough Round to Score...Floyd Wins Early on Left Jabs...Castillo Lands a Good Right Hand....Floyd Lands Some Jabs & Counters....Castillo is MUSCLING Floyd & Landing Some Shots....Bit Counter Late by Floyd but he Looks VERY Uncomfortable....

EVEN Round or Slight Edge to Floyd

    7. Big Round for Castillo...He's Finding the Range & Landing w/Both Hands on Floyd...HARD Shots...

    Castillo's Round 10-9

    8. Clearly Castillo's Round...He Matches Floyd's Output of Headshots, N Addition to Landing Body Blows...Castillo LOSES a Point for Landing a Left Hook on the Break...

EVEN Round or Slight Edge to Castillo

    10. Pretty Good Round for Floyd...He's Landing @ Will, Countering Beautifully...Castillo Closes Distance Late & Lands...Count Drakulich Deducts a Point from Floyd for Pushing Off w/his Elbows....

    Castillo's Round 10-9

    12. Castillo's Round on Aggression & Bodypunching...

    Castillo's ROund 10-9

Recap: REED Gave Floyd Rounds 1-5 AND Round 10 (Point Deducted in the 10th) CLEARLY...REED Gave Castillo Rounds 7, 8, 11 & 12 (Point Deducted in Round 8) CLEARLY...

REED Scored Rounds 6 & 9 EVEN, but Could Make a Case for Floyd Winning 6 & Castillo Winning the 9th...Giving Castillo EVERY Benefit of the Doubt, the MOST REED Can Give him is a 1-Point Win...As is, REED Scored it 115-113 for Floyd...

REED Suggests SCORING the Fight Before Proclaiming it a "Robbery"...It WASN'T...It was a CLOSE Fight that Could've Went EITHER Way by a POINT...

The most important thing about this fight was the rematch. The first fight was probably a tossup but Floyd clearly won the rematch.

How can speed be, "the story of the round?" Fights are not judged on speed. The reality is, guys with better hand-speed tend to get close decisions. But that doesn't make it true or correct.

Because Floyd's speed and Castillo's respect for it allowed Floyd to outland him 3-1.

I agree that the fight was not a robbery. I agree that it had some tough rounds.

I think you are being dense by saying I shouldn't bitch since you and Hut ended up with the same score despite disagreeing on 5 rounds.

At the time, I remember having JLC up by a point but it was a close fight... I think a bigger deal was made of it because a lot of people expected Mayweather to defeat him more decisively

he most certainly did... especially with jabbing to the body... he did that exceptionally well and I always thought it was a big key to his clear victory that night
