Andre Berto is the man who inspired this thread.

What other fighters fall into this category? That is, fighters without a plan and without skill who simply chase their man around the ring in the hopes they can unleash a fight-ending combination?

I disagree with both of your picks Sly. Not only did Trinidad and Diego have great accuracy, but they knew how to set up knock-outs. And both knew how to "live" in the ring.

Jeff Lacy probably qualifies, alongside Berto.

Well then change the title of your thread...because both Tito and Corrales were fighters who just stalked an opponent, hoping that they'd slow down and become stationary before unlesahing their attacks....

Sly that was a retarded choice. Felix knew how to cut the ring and break you down. Now, he "forgot" how to do that in the later part of his career, I'll give you that.

    My choices:

    Berto
    Lacy
    Samuel Peter

I'm not even sure Berto belongs in this thread. He's sloppy as shit but he's a bully like Hopkins. If he can't catch you he'll use his arms, elbows, head to bull you into the ropes..............where he can clench you, wrestle with you and then turn his back on you, so he can bitch about getting hit in the back of the head.

    I nominate Juan Urango.

I remember that cunt James Butler could do absolutely nothing with anybody who didn't stand directly in front of him.

"The Harlem Hammer" had an awful time connecting on anybody who was actually expecting it.

i don't think you can generalize types like that. some hippety hop fighters would beat some, "Sit still so I can hit you," fighters, and the reverse is true.

I actually kind of like Berto. I find him to be a rather exciting fighter to watch. Sure he doesn't have the skill level of some others out there, but neither did Gatti.

    To answer the thread... Tua

Also I agree with Corrales, even Frietas was boxing the shit out of him / effectively running away until he slowed down and got hammered.

Im not really sure what the thread question is asking....guys who can't cut off the ring? Guys who are one dimensional plodders? Guys who are troubled by movement? Guys with slow feet?

I thought it is guys who have to settle before being able to let their hands go, so out of the options you presented it would probably be the guys who are troubled by movement. IMO David Tua is the perfect example, as is Corrales

The reason for your confusion is that Double L posted it while being drunk AND high as usual.

    he always has an agenda.

From what he implied by the thread title OBVIOUSLY Corrales and Tito apply. Now he says they are bad examples...and so the only conclusion is that it's another DOuble L thread which is targetting his hated fighter of the moment.

I guess it's poor "ROID Berto"'s turn to face the "wrath" of Loveland's angst....

I think those things are all the same. But the topic of the thread is more general since aside from not dealing well with movement, SSSICHY fighters also can't counter-punch, have shit timing, no balance, don't know what a jab is, and can't fight going backwards.

Does anyone realize just how shitty Quitana looked in there? And Berto still looked like shit. I don't know how anyone can like Berto or not find him tedious and embarrassing to watch.

uh, no. i'm sorry if you fail to see why Trinidad and Corrales do not fall into the same category as Andre fucking Berto. but don't take it out on me.

Both Tito and Chico had plenty of trouble against moving targets. To be effective they both needed a little time to settle and get a good balance before firing. Of course they both were good enough so that it took a world-class opponents to take advantage of that, but this exactly was their downfall.

    Thus, both are good examples

Trinidad is the best example. Even the so called prime Trinidad needed to plant his feet to land, as Oscar highlighted.

Also Corrales, Tua, Pavlik - despite showing good accuracy, don't do well with movers.

Considering Hopkins moves alot when he fights....who did you pick to win out of Pavlik and Hopkins?

No they're related but different. Foreman had pretty slow feet but was a master of cutting off the ring. Arguello was troubled by movement but to call him a '1 dimensional plodder' would be absurd. Tyson was totally 1 dimensionally aggressive, stylistically but had very fast feet & wasn't troubled by movement at all.

Your question is exceptionally vague. You may as well have just posted 'Berto sucks' and saved us the trouble of trying to decipher your meaningless loaded question.

    Answer my question...

You seem to know that pavlik has problems with movers...and so who did you pick?

    That's a pointless question.

It was Hopkins who illustrated how badly Pavlik handles movement, it wasn't as evident in any of his other fights, because he hadn't really fought a fighter with good movement.
