Big Tim must love being the biggest joke in MMA. He sure is taking the right fights to keep the jokes alive. Mariuz could be the goods, who knows, but taking fights with a one fight novice is not a good way to rebuild his image.
Very interesting freakshow. If Pudzianowski was serious, he'd build up by choosing bums, but he looks like he wants to cash out quickly. As for Sylvia, his lumbering style and recent blowout losses are probably dictating where he's fighting. I doubt Strikeforce wants him, the UFC dropped him, so only Dream and Sengoku are the name orgs giving him a chance. Soon he'll be fighting rematches with Ricco Rodriguez, Wes Sims, and Cabbage Correira at flea circuses and monster truck rallys. :: I actually feel bad for the guy. He did his best, but MAN he could stink out an event.
Tim Sylvia made more money than most. You're talking about a guy who was paid $900,000 to get his ass whipped by Fedor. He made more in that 1 fight than most UFC fighters will probably make in their careers. He was highly overpaid as it was but he still will go into the books as a former 2 time UFC heavyweight champion and nobody can take that away from him, even if he is a lumbering retard. By the way, this guy tried to flip a PS3 on eBay once when PS3s were hard to get. He autographed it too and had his pic taken holding the PS3 and tried selling it for like twice the price of its worth.::
Pudzianowski is not cashing out trust me. If there is a reason why he's taking this fight it's cuz he's super confident in himself.
Mariusz is horrible though. But he has power, so this is a decent fight for him. Sylvia is laughable slow and has a weak chin and is easy to hit. The only way he wins is if he knocks Mariusz out, which is possible. It's a pick'em fight, but I want Mariusz to win so I'll take him.
Tim's punch resistance has definitely gone down considerably in recent bouts, but he took bombs from Arlovski, and beat him twice. Tim doesn't suck, but he seems to be circling the drain as a fighter.
What makes you think Mariusz is horrible? He only has had one mma fight against a no hoper. That lasted a minute. You didn't see yet if he's horrible or not so don't jump to conclusions. This fight should show if he's horrible or not.
Pics say it all, IMO. Sylvia's pitiable 'striking skills' don't overcome being a less than half the strength of his opponent. He's gonna get thrown around.
Mariusz better have some badass cardio if hes going to keep those muscles pumping for longer than 1 minute.
