Without a doubt the forums were going OFF for The middleweight Unification Tournament, and ESPECIALLY Hopkins/Trinidad. All of the coverage Steve Kim/Doug Fisher were putting out on Hopkins, and, consequently, all the shit Hopkins was spitting at the time, only helped to fuel the mayhem.

Had to be 2001-2002 for me. I was 15 and my two favorite were Oscar and Vargas. Trinidad-Vargas and DeLaHoya-Vargas were some of the funnest fights I've witnessed.

Boxingtime, particularly during the "Kingdom" era,.. or "Idi Amin" .. he was a hilarious character,.. I dont know why he dissapeared but he was perhaps the funniest poster I've ever seen, he knitted into Boxingtime perfectly,.. "Heartbreak for the superior Black man" ,..:lol:

Tito/Vargas...nothing can compare to the epic buildup to this fight and its aftermath.

2004 was a fantastic year here, and in Houston.

Juan Diaz was on fire, Rocky Juarez was red hot as well, Kermit Cintron destroyed Teddy Reid.

I liked it when Esk posted that "Trinidad wanted to quit against Vargas", & wouldn't post any evidence until people apologised to him for being rude.

Also used to enjoy Everlasts posts when he was in his prime.

Shame none of you guys were around during the Jack Johnson era...there was some heated discussion back then. My my, the things that were said...you get banned for a hell of a lot less these days.

    serious response....

Trinidad did seem to split people a lot, he had some very passionate fans, and equally as passionate haters. Those were good times.

Jones-Ruiz was great, because it was quite funny to see how people writing off Jones' chances against the bigger man, then pissed all over the achievement afterwards.

The whole 00-09 decade.I met a few board members from here and maxboxing when I lived in Las Vegas. It was great.

I was on houseofboxing.com before that and rec.sports.boxing newsgroups before that. Newsgroups sucked but boxing fans were more centralized then.

For me, nothing will quite top the hyperbole, excitement & anticipation on boards across the Net I experienced with the Hopkins-Trinidad build-up. Astonishing.

    Nice thread, btw. Original.

I believe so Hanz, I believe so,.. it was a further slice of the discussion about Pitbull's alleged wealth which Lok illustrated a little of in his above post,.. 25g's a week,.. 'how?'... does Kilo ring a bell???..

Here's one you may remember,.. "Bitch would have to keep turning the light on to check if she was still creeping with a man, you're a sad sack of shit Roger" ..

The mighty 'Kingdom' in confrontation with 'Snaggles' aka 'Kid Dynamite' I think..

    Good times...good times,..

LOL! I remember Kingdom giving it to Snaggles. That was fun! Even this board was fun at times. The thread I made about Pitbulls and we had Orion being challenged to fight Pitbull's dogs for over a grand with a bunch of fightbeaters chipping in. Then Orion backs out.

I have to admit, the SO days were classic.

MADDOG was fucking funny, and do you remember that hideous, detestable little Hamed groupie, Sesquip?

I wasn't there that day unfortunately. Did Snaggles have a Tyson type voice?

They were actually messageboard allies at one time. Me and Kpat would argue with them over at Btalk in regards to Tyson v Lewis (before it happened).

Not sure what happened after they got the invite to Fightworld.us but that alliance crashed and burned.

    Further to Kauks v Kingdom.

Kauks makes a bet on a fight where the loser has to post a picture of his nuts on the forum. Kauks loses and posts a picture of a packet of beer nuts. Kingdom posts an actual picture of his balls.

I stopped reading Kingdoms posts after that.

 Yeah, I said I was going to butter em' up like a hot train whistle,.. but bitched out,.. I think we all knew the bet was merely a chance for Kingdom to open up his own perverse exhibition , he craved shocking the forum,..
Kpatrick had a good quote in that same thread,.. "Never before have I been so concerned with the board's mental health."..
