1.He fought for so many years in the U.S and he hasn't learned any English yet? Seriously? 2.I'm tired of Mayorga's act. Watch when the fight ends he'll be kissing the guy and telling him he loves him.
Din Thomas...on a mission to defend the integrity of Mixed Martial Arts against washed up ex-boxers...for the grand prize of $9,000!
LOL. Mayorga has him right where he wants him. Thomas will trade and get KTFO when he does. He didn't even see that left slap coming and it wobbled him LMAO. and a big FUCK YOU to the reporter who said that MMA fighters train every day of their lives while boxers don't.
That wasn't exactly a bitch slap. The other kid got in a much better shove than that slap, IMO. I think Mayorga is in trouble come May vs. this kid. Karl
Agreed. By the way, it looked like that slap didn't even connect, it seemed to whoosh right past his chin.
I have to say, as disrespectful and much of a dick Mayorga is, he puts on on he'll of a press conference.::
That was funny, a few things: A. The whole press conference reminded me of that scene in The Departed when Nicholsen is involved in that shouting match (...CAUSE IN MY COUNTRY!) with the Chinese mobsters. B. Some of the reactions from the fat guy, persumably the promoter, were hilarious. C. Din Thomas was well out of his depth with the trash talk...Mayorga went sadistic with it...Din Thomas came back with 'i'm gonna send you on your knees back to boxing'.....lame. D. Is Mayorga's whole trash talking just a elaborate prank on his translater to see what the worst thing he can make her say is? E. Mayorga looks heavy, surprise, surprise.
What a joke. How many times have we seen this same schitck from Mayorga shortly before he gets totally embarrassed in the fight itself. By the way, anyone know what the weight is gonna be for this one. Din Thomas dropped down to 145 for his last 3 fights and has looked great at that weight. There's no way in hell Mayorga makes 145.
anyone else notice how fat mayorga is . i guess someone isnt taking this seriously. still i hope mayorga knocks him out in 4 seconds.
haha Mayorga is a huge fatso...he will gas in no time at all i don't really understand why he is doing this...surely he can still do the same thing in boxing and make alot more money
I think the same, it seems weird. He lost his last fight to Mosley. OK he's seems done as a top fighter, but it's not like he's been losing to journeyman. Surely he could still make more in boxing than MMA. I would say maybe he's genuinely interested in trying MMA, and fancies his chances, but I'm not so sure, especially given his physique. Is he even going to get any proper MMA training for this fight, from an established coach?
I heard he was training at AKA wich is a pretty good camp. But on the rest, I agree with you, it just seems weird to see him go to MMA when he could make far more $$$ in boxing. I know he's suing King, but maybe his contract with him is still valid untill a judge's ruling, so he can't fight in boxing under a different promoter untill it's settle BTW, Mayorga trash talking is hilarious even though I don't speak a damn word of spanish
Ah, well that makes sense, it could well be that. Do you know why he's suing King? Probably a stupid question, presumably because King has skanked him out of however much money :: I agree about the trash talk. Sure Mayorga kisses and makes up after the fight, but so what? It doesn't make his pre fight trash talk any less funny. He's just a funny bastard.
I think he wanted to fight in an organization where most guys stand up skills are just as sloppy and uncoordinated as his. It also says a lot that MMA seems to be the place where washed up boxers go when their careers have hit a wall. James Toney is another example.
