Me too. Tyson obviously had/has some emotional and mental issues, but I don't think he is a monster, I get the feeling he's actually an OK guy. And I firmly believe he didn't rape that girl either, she was just after money.

Valero isn't some youngster. He's 28 and he looked like he came in with a beer gut against DeMarco, along with talk of moving up into higher weight classes he had no business being in.

Agree. Maybe Valero could hang with Casa, but he hasn't to this point and it would be a big step up from what he has accomplished. Freitas showed he could very much hang with Casamayor.

 

what can they do when the victim never want to cooperate and doesn't want to press charges ( shee kept saying her bruises were from accident ). She has herself to blame for her own death as it was obvious that Valero was a very pertubed man at the moment but she kept on excusing him while things escalated.

My first reaction was actually the shame as Roboto's, ah fucking scumbag authorities etc etc but then I came to my senses and realised, the same thing would happen even in England.

If the victim sticks to the bullshit story, and isn't prepared to testify/press charges etc, there's really not much they can do.

Because his familly was on all media saying no way he would have commited suicide and that the job was botched in Brasil, so they hired their own coroner, supposedly the best in the biz, yet, strangely, we haven,t heard from him after his preliminary exam. It's safe to bet that the conlusion he came up with didn't sit to well with the Gatti familly and they prefered to keep it to themselves.

 

I'm not sure. It may be difficult to compare hideous crimes, and Ayala didn't kill anyone we know about - but the perverse and brutal nature of his rapes were disturbing. Valero seems like a straightforward case of a guy who gets angry and loses control. Oh, and he's drunk a lot. Both should be kept away from the general populace, probably for the duration of their lives, but Ayala had this edge of loving to inflict humiliation and agony upon the women he assaulted.

As far as punishment... don't speak too soon all of you who think his status and money in a corrupt country run by a nutjob won't mean anything now. He won't skate, like what was likely to happen with just the simple trifling case of him beating the shit out of his wife. But he will get preferential treatment, and I would guess that most people who are familiar with this case will be outraged with the ultimate disposition of it.

I hope I'm wrong. He is volatile enough to kill himself in the meantime, though. In fact it wouldn't surprise me a bit.

 

Scatman Gatti was always like that though. His brother went to Germany and ended up in hospital, thanks to the perenially heavy-handed Sven Ottke. As soon as German medical staff had patched Joe back together, he fucked off back to Canada and started rumours about how Ottkes gloves were loaded.
