You can hear Floyd now:"You don't know anything about boxing. Ray was a stupid motherfucker man. He got problems with his cornea because he was so brave and cut his earnings short. Fuck the fans and legacy man! I made more money in my last fight then he did his whole career."
No he wasn't. That's ridiculous. I can accept the argument that Ray was better than Floyd overall (I disagree but...), but to say that he's better than Floyd in every area is just asinine. For one thing: Ray was never as elusive as Floyd. NEVER. I rate tyson as a better fighter than Frazier for example. I think Tyson was significantly better than Frazier. But it would also be asinine of me to suggest that Tyson was better than Frazier in every single category. Frazier had teh edge in stamina and the edge in heart from what I can see. Tyson was better in every other way. Foreman would have beaten Frazier every day of teh week for example. But was Foreman better than Frazier in every single way? Not at all. Frazier had more stmina than Foreman for one thing. Anyway....To act as though Ray Leonard has everything Floyd has and then some is just plain stupid, with all due respect.
Ray was expected to beat Duran the first tme out. Ray was teh naturally bigger man and he was young and undefeated. Duran was in his 30s and a lightweight and had already been beaten. So Don't act as though Duran was this big fearsome challnege for Ray. He was a good challenge sure...but at the time Ray was teh clear favourite. As for teh rematch. So what? people fight rematches for revenge all the time.
By the same reasoning Floyd should be the favorite against Pacquaio who is over 30, coming from lower divisions, has reach and size disadavantages. But what does Floyd do: "Mommy!!, Test him mommy."What advantages does Floyd have over Mosley? He is a 4 to 1 favorite is he not?
Floyd tried to make the fight. And Golden Boy wanted Pac tested just as much as Mayweather. besides Shane stepped up and proved that he was willing to take the tests so that he can say he fought THE BEST. Pity Pacquiao wimped out of it...
mayweather has gained just as much size as pacquiao in the same amount of time. high likelihood he is also a PED user.
like i have said, i'm a fan of Floyd and think he "could' go down as one of the greats.. if he fights so more big fights and wins big but Ray.. Ray is just on another level Floyd might be more elusive, maybe.. but that's it.. and it could verywell be by style.. Ray could be but at times chose not to be people forget what a MONSTER Tommy was going into the fight with Ray.. Tommy was knocking people out as if they were hit by baseball bats! the RAy-Benitez fight.. AWESOME i honestly dont think Floyd beats Benitez that night
Mayweather does not think. He functions. He responds to feeding and light. He has basic responses to basic stimuli. But think? Forget about it. That process is reserved for higher life forms, like.....the lint on my Glans.
i have no idea what that is :: i haven't bothered looking it up i dunno what was more compelling about this episode...Mosley getting a haircut or Roger getting some fastfood :shit:
Pure ignorance. I'd expect this from one of the white anglo-saxons on the board, but you? I'll chalk it up to your making jokes. Tommy Hearns had a fucking Jheri Curl. Iran Barkley had a Jheri Curl Michael Olajide had a Jheri Curl. Bald cats have NO room to discuss hairstyles. :kidcool: That's like Rosie O'Donnell emersing herself in a dick sucking conversation.
There is one fighter who deserved to be made fun of for his hair. And he is Jorge Luis "Bad Hair Life" Gonzalez.
I'm just as impressed with Roger Mayweather holding the mitts!!! I train fighters, and I hold the mitts. If you have never held mitts, you can't imagine the type of workout you get as a trainer. I've done 15 rounds, using the whole ring with 3 different boxers (5 rounds apiece), with 3 minute rounds and 30 second breaks. I swear I felt like I was going to have a heart attack!! everything hurt the next day. Granted, i have not fought in competition (amateur) since Oct. 95. Trust me, the last 2 guys don't get the same intensity as the first because I'm dog tired, but I push it. Roger's amazing.
I was watching this second episode with some older folks that know boxing from back in the day. The moment Floyd said he was better than Ali and Ray Robinson I thought these older folks almost broke my tv. :bangh: I honestly dont' think he believes that. I think he likes to push people's buttons. He knows any boxer saying he is better than Ali or Ray Robinson is fucking sacrilage. So that's why he said it. He loves playing the villain role. It's funny they way HBO edits these episodes. How they cut to a scene with him and his daughter having a moment. To counter balance his asshole image. I still enjoy these 24/7 episodes. They are just funny to me. They are not meant to be taken serious.
Simultaneously humorous,.. and very true to the trained eye, there's a hive of evidence on display each and every day to form this conclusion, it's why he suffers an autistic and tearful like, anxiety attack when someone confronts him with a pervasive question based on an ethical alternative against his instincts to ravage as much of the portion as he can for himself. He's a raw sociopath, intellectually incapable of rehearsing the neccesary 'business mask' that most fat-cats and thier promoters HAD to be capable of to achieve thier capitalist glory. With promoters you can see flickering forked tongues if your lucky,.. comparitively, with Fraud, you see the whole hideous demon twitching, swiping and gnashing,.. it's why most people are outraged by him, not enough camouflage, but he's really the same kind of predator, just too stupid to nuzzle under the ly pop mask before hissing like a flailing leech.
