While Shane may not be undefeated, and unlike a Lennox Lewis, cannot claim that he's defeated everyone he's ever faced, he does have an interesting distinction: He's managed to knock out men that have defeated each of his conquerers. How many others can say the same?
I thought it was an interesting observation. He may have lost to Cotto, Winky and Forrest...but he knocked out Margarito, Vargas and Mayorga....who respectively beat the aforementioned. I think that's a reasonable claim to have.
You attacked my horse thread the same way don't be a hypocrite ! :: Ok I'm done I'm not gonna push your buttons but to wrap this up styles make fights.
Yes, I agree, this makes Shane a much more live opponent than his inactivity and rapidly advancing years would at first suggest.
another interesting fact, there isn't a single fighter on floyds resume who shane wouldn't have fought. however shane's resume is littered with guys floyd would never fight.
Since Mosely lost to De La Hoya, and Mayweather beat De La Hoya, does it mean Mosely knocks out Mayweather ????????????? How intriguing.
Floyd would never fight Hatton: check Floyd would never fight De La Hoya: check Floyd would never fight Shane: check
Hatton sucks at 147: check DeLaHoya a part time boxer and yet only lost a SD to Floyd: check Floyd finally agreed to fight Shane after he saw grays in his hair?: check
As a piece of trivia, it is somewhat interesting. I wonder how many other fighters share the same statistic.
Like who? A guy like Floyd who fights a guy like Corrales...when Corrales was undefeated and red hot doesn't duck a Forrest, Wright or Cotto...as you imply.
Yes sir. Floyd not fighting those guys is merely happenstance. Happening to not fight certain guys is very different to "avoiding" certain guys. Floyd hasn't ducked or avoided any challenge. Floyd trying to make the pacquiao fight in just his 2nd fight after a long layoff and then signing to fight Mosley (considered teh best Welterweight in the world in Floyd's absence) is testimony to this fact. Not to mention, as I said before....fighting Corrales when Chico was a serious threat to him, fighting Catsillo in his first fight at 135lbs. Calling out Tszyu and Cotto when he moved up to 140lbs (Cotto wanted no part of him at the time)...fighting an unbeaten Hatton after a long layoff. Moving up and taking on the formidable De La Hoya. Floyd haters are teh most ridiculous "fans" in boxing. Dumb Dumb cunts.
