So I guess fans don't like technical fights in MMA?

At this point in Hendo's career, GSP takes him down and probably stops him in the late rounds. GSP's cardio and workrate would kill Hendo.

there are former wrestlers like evans, diego sanchez, jon fitch, henderson, mir, couture, jackson, carwin, and hughes that have transitioned well into mma as both grapplers and strikers. the guys i've mentioned w/ an exception of jon fitch and perhaps evans are mostly fun to watch.

then there's jake shields and most recently, gsp. their grappling is not what i call entertaining.

i've said this before in the past and i'll say it again. if you want to watch technical grappling, then watch college wrestling.

even bjj in its purest form is not watchable imo. i'd much rather prefer watching judo or sambo.

Makes you appreciate Antonio Rodrigo Nogeira. He's a ground fighter that's never been accused of being boring.

he's obviously an exception. plus, he's had a pretty decent amateur boxing background. i think his brother at one point was one of the best brazilian amateur boxer winning its national title.

Easy to say this now, would you have said this before Saturday night? I seriously doubt many people would have.

Well he's usually getting the shit beat out of him before submitting someone so he has that going for him.

I wouldn't have said it before Saturday night. But as many do, you grow old in this game overnight. Dan doesn't have the stamina anymore. He still has dynamite in that right hand but that looks to be about it. I love Hendo, I wish it wasn't true.

I think something was wrong with Hendo, I keep hearing something about his back being screwed up. Not sure if there is any truth to it though.

I read that his back is fucked, but he doesn't want to do the surgery. Hendo is probably just about done fighting.

Personally I like to give a ton of credit to Shields. Everyone on here may call him boring, but the dude gets it done. He is constantly working and refuses to lose.

I said it on the homepage and I'll say it again, you have to consider Jake Shields among the MMA Elite. I would pick him against any 170 or 185 pounder in the world with the obvious 2 exceptions. And I'd pay to see him fight the bigger of those exceptions (Silva).

I think Shields is Elite. But I think in the UFC he is a mirror image of Jon Fitch.

Funny, since I am the only one giving shields any credit, and I'm also the one who mentioned the back issues. No excuses here.

Sheilds at least has good BJJ. Fitch doesn't.
