If you were a fighter, or a trainer, who would you try to get as sparring partners for the following opponents: PBF Pacquiao Caballero P. Williams
Exactly. It would be different if the fighters named above have historically had trouble with a certain style, but that's not really the case here.
An interesting thread might be....'Who's best to replicate the following opponents for someone training to fight them'
thanks. yes, sorry to have confused anyone. the question is, suppose you or someone you care about is training to face: PBF Pacquiao Caballero Paul Williams Who do you spar in order to prepare for each of these fighters? I think Guzman is a good choice for PBF. Judah for Pacquiao? I'm not so sure - they're both south-paws, but I think that's where the similarities end. Caballero? I'm not sure who you'd choose. And Tarver? For Williams? Not that I have a better choice, but I don't think 15-punches-a-round-Tarver is the right guy.
Actually sly is right, LOK. The original question was, "Who makes ideal sparring partners for the following opponents", but the premise is that you are preparing to fight PBF, Pac, Caballero, and Williams. So WHO do you get to prepare yourself (if you're a fighter) or your fighter (if you're the manager or coach)? Sly answered that with his choices.
I don't get it either. Chances are Kermit would actually show up and actually fight you. That's nothing like Floyd.
Dude..this shit is getting old. Let's have a reasonable discussion. I don't recall Floyd not showing up for a fight. he showed up to fight Castillo even when he (Floyd) was injured.
For Caballero, maybe Funeka? By the way, Guzman is 0-2 against Funeka. It's too bad - the guy showed promise at 122 and 126. At 135, he looks to be shit - Guzman that is.
Didn't Guzman win their last fight after he came in way overweight? For Caballero, maybe the Corrales of 130 if he wasn't dead or the Paul Williams of 147, but that's a bit of a size difference For Mayweather, Toney is actually a good selection because of the shoulder roll, but the size and speed are all wrong. Maybe Judah wouldn't be bad if he tried to simulate Mayweather and fight orthodox. For Pac, maybe the Hatton that fought Tszyu. Swarming, angles, but not a southpaw so that's not too great either. Tough question
Officially, Guzman won the second fight. But then again, officially, he didn't lose the first fight. I think in reality, he lost both fights.
