You're right. Unfortunately, you're not speaking of the same person. Mayweather was one person when he was fighting Corrales, but quite another by the time Wright & Cotto become at all relevant.
Wright was never relevant. Wright never fought at 147lbs as far as i know and certainly wasn't a welterweight when Floyd became a welter. Why should a man that started at 130lbs....fight at 154lbs? He had ONE FIGHT at 154lbs...and that was against Oscar (The cash-cow)..and even for that fight Floyd only weighed 148lbs on fight night.
mayweather jr wanted NO part of wright, and he surely wouldve lost to a full fledged middleweight like wright who had excellent boxing skills. but Cotto? :: be real here, Mayweather jr wanted that fight at 140lbs when both were with Top Rank and the fight was very simple to make. Arum/Trampler etc wanted no part of that match.
PBF fights who he wants, when he wants, if he wants, and if, in the eyes of his shit-head team, he can beat easily, and with his toy style afraid to get hurt.
ODH fought middleweights. Mosley fought Wright. Tito fought middleweights. SRL fought middleweights. Duran fought middleweights. Whitaker fought Junior Middleweights. Mosley fought Junior Middleweights. I guess PBF doesn't measure up.
Like Neil said Floyd wanted Cotto when they were both with Top Rank - Arum nixed it. Floyd wanted Pac - Arum and Pac nixed it. Floyd wanted Mosely twice, the first time Mosely decided to move to welter instead ducking Stevie Johnson along the way and recently he had a toothache and needed to go to the dentist. Now Floyd is fighting him off his most impressive winning streak in years and people are still crying ::
Is this the best you could come up with in your feeble attempt to once again try to convince us that you're a Mosley fan?
Don't forget Orzubek Nazarov and Zab Judah. 2 more guys besides Floyd Mayweather Jr, and Stevie Johnston whom Shane ducked to go up in weight and fight a bigger more dangerous fighter in ODLH. Let me get this straight, it's okay for Floyd to pick and choose who he wants to fight by going down in weight. But you're going to tell me that Shane picking and choosing a guy who was considered more dangerous and bigger than Floyd by going up in weight is a sign of ducking him? No evidence of bias in that argument. :atu:
I was merely stating facts. I wasn't saying its okay one way or the other. The fact is Floyd wanted to fight Mosely and Mosely for whatever reason choose not to do so. That is indisputable and is on record. The fact is Mosely wanted to fight Cotto and Pac as well.
But just for the record what you mentioned wasn't all factual. Jack Mosley has said himself that Floyd did not really want to fight Shane back then. When they discussed it Floyd said he was trying to break the record for longest title defenses so he didn't want Shane back then like he likes to say. Also it is not a fact that Shane ducked Johnston either usually it's not even anybody's opinion.
I haven't been able to think of any other fighters who have knocked out all of their own conquerors' conquerors, btw.
Wladimir has lost to Brewster, Purritty and Sanders. He knocked out Rahman who stopped Sanders. He knocked out Byrd, who had beaten Purritty. He knocked out Shufford, who decisioned Brewster.
Wow. Just reading this topic makes me forget that Mosely is really old and hasn't fought in over a year.
Calling out, mentioning, it's all the same. Doesn't matter. Unless it's a real attempt to negotiate a fight, who gives a shit?
Hey, I'm not the only person to pick up on what the reason for this topic really is. If I see bullshit, I call bullshit...no matter how much of a tantrum gets thrown.
Dude..you keep coming in here talking about how Shane isn't the man he was Eighteen months ago. Well, I called your wife, and she told me that you're not the man you were Eight months ago...
Speaking of tantrums...the truth being spoken in one of Stafford's BS topics usually sets one off. As evidenced by this gem of a response from him. And...you might want to try an original snarky "comeback", not one from 30+ years ago. Oh, so very weak.
