Brilliant textbook Muy Thai chop down performance slightly downgraded because of way too much respect for an overmatched opponent.
WEC is gay. Just a farmleague for UFC. I hope they make 6 ppv buys so Dana can stop hyping this pile of sh*t.
Yeah, considering the UFC doesn't even have a 145 pound division that makes sense. The card tonight was incredible and Aldo is among the top 10 best fighters in the world.
overexcited? i wouldnt go that far. i thought it was a one-sided beatdown and it was a bit tough to watch considering the amount of damage aldo was inflicting each time he landed his kicks. when he had him in the crucifix, he landed a lot of punches and elbows although the contact range was limited. not sure what was the purpose of letting that fight go through round 5 considering faber had ZERO chance of pulling any tricks out of his hat. i agree that it wasn't exciting, but it wasn't 'dull' as you'd put it. it was a display of dominance by aldo and something anderson silva should've done to maija two weeks ago.
Yeah well your ass didn't pay for it either, Trplsec. So keep enjoying your free cards. I'm sure the fighters are loving having you show your support.::
I hate to say it but Faber is another Rich Franklin. He did great at 145 till the competition got better.
Ummm, as I said on page one of this thread, I did buy the PPV. And it was entertaining. Hell, the free fights on Spike were great. So, again, you show how absolutely little you know.
Really? What competition got 'better' at 185? Franklin is still an even money fight with anyone in the division except for Anderson Silva. The division didn't get 'better' than Franklin, only Anderson Silva did. But the comparison is a good one in the sense that Faber would never be able to beat Aldo. Faber can either be content being second or third best in the division or hope Aldo jumps up to 155 to challenge Ben Henderson.
Where did you say on page 1 that you bought the ppv? You didn't say sh*t! All you said was that this WEC ppv should've been on free tv. You just watched it on a stream.::
I have to disagree. Aldo is just on another level than the rest of the division. Faber is still just as good as anyone else in the division not named Aldo. Aldo is actually a very big 145'er and I think he needs to make some noise in the UFC as a lightweight.
http://www.fightmetric.com/fights/Aldo-Faber.html Remove the strikes from the crucifix and you see that very few strikes landed. Don't get me wrong, Aldo methodically dissected Faber, but I don't feel it was brutal at all.
I think if BJ had swept aside Edgar like he had done the other contenders...there would be a clamoring to see Aldo move up...but for now i don't think they'll rush him into the UFC. I'm interested to see what happens with Ben Henderson....a couple of solid defences under his best and he may be looking for the move
It didn't look like it to me (before the injury) I'll watch it again since I still have the fight on my hardrive
Aldo is a badass. Seeing Brown lose to Manny was a tough pill for me to swallow. I like Brown. Manny really served himself well dropping to 145. Look for Aldo vs Manny next. I know alot of you are high on Henderson right now, but the guy just looks sooooo average to me. I am not sure I would pick him over Clay Guida.
