in other words, Cintron is live. Williams doesn't have plaster in his hands - so far, that's the only thing that's defeated Cintron.
He makes a good point about margarito's body attack but i'm not convinced with the other arguments in favor of Cintron. One, keeping a distance from the lead-footed and shorter Angulo and a taller Paul Williams is two different things. Two, Cintron's jab isn't that great, and it's a weapon rarely as effective against a southpaw. Kermit will need to find a home for the right hand early and often to have a chance. Williams will break Cintron down. Maybe not as effectively as Margarito but it will happen.
Wrong. We all know there should be a 3rd loss on gy's record. Maravilla clearly beat him. I can see Kerm hurting TP early, but as the fight goes deeper, I think Williams will fuck him up bad. Paul late TKO is my pick. And dont take that dude Dwyer too seriously. He's pretty good at picking fights, but he says some dumb shit. He said that Katsidis most reminded him of a prime Tyson.::
Hex, Why the shit-eating grin as the message icon in all of your topics? I keep opening your threads expected something funny...and getting disappointed every time. What's da matter wid ya, boricua? ::
ok. let's pretend Sergio did win (we have to pretend since in reality he did not). that makes two fighters, Margarito and Sergio, who have nothing in common with TP.
The REALITY is that Martinez won by KO. If the ref wasnt inept thats what the official result would have read. But even still, theres no way to justify scoring the fight a draw. gy got outboxed clearly. Tall Paul brings the pressure, and the high volume pace which Cintron wont like to fight at. Martinez, and Quintana beat Paul by being slick, and countering him, but Cintron is just too staright up and robotic to get the job done. Does this mean you're picking Kerm?
Nah. I can't reasonably pick Cintron. Williams in my mind is the only guy to have beaten a plastered-handed Margarito - pretty impressive. And you make a good point about Quintana and Sergio - Cintron doesn't have what those guys do (btw Cintron/Quintana should be a good fight down the way). Anyways, can't pick against TP. I guess I'm just in the habit of railing against the dissent around CIntron - he lost twice to a cheater, and if you will, once to an apparently elite fighter - he's not as shitty as many like to claim.
I never said Cintron was shitty. He's a good fighter, but Paul is just plain better and should win. But Paul is easy to hit, and Kerm can crack, so it makes it a compelling fight. BTW - Quintana looked TOTALLY shot in the Berto fight. That guy is done. Cintron would smash Quitana at this point.
yeah really. forgot all about his last fight - wtf happened to Quintana? he looked like absolute shit against Berto. i agree - he's done. while we're at it, let's all contemplate the wreckage that Margarito has left in his wake....if he didn't physically damage Cotto (which he probably did) he indeed damaged him emotionally. And the same is true of Cintron.
He definitely ruined Cotto, but I dont think he had much affect on Cintron. I just think Kerm is naturally mentally weak as a fighter, and will always fold under pressure. He's got a chance to redeem himself vs Paul, but I think Williams will mentally break him. Margarito certainly didnt physically affect Cintron either. Only because Kerm was too fragile to take as bad a beating as Cotto took.
Big black arachnid gunna press all the right buttons and defragment Cintron's heart, 300 beats a minute on the outside and in.
Cintron didn't look weak to me going to war, for the sake of the fans, against Estrada on ESPN. He could've made that fight easy - anyone who claims otherwise is just wrong. But he didn't. Cintron can and will go to war with opponents who dont have plater in thier hands. Cotto? He's got the Vargas syndrome. The fact he went as long as he did with Margarito proves he's a psycho. The fact TP went 12? And won? I'm not sure.
I never understood what happened to Quintana. He wasnt involved in too many wars. Does anyone have a logic explanation??
