Floyd Mayweather vs a PRIME Fernando Vargas at 154lbs

False. A prime Vargas could maintain a high workrate, and was alot quicker and stronger then Castillo.

Stop riding Floyd's nuts on EVERY matchup!

Castillo faster then Vargas? Ive heard it all now. Neither one was a speed demon, but Vargas certainly had quicker hands and feet then Castillo. In a P4P sense Castillo hit harder then Vargas, but in actuality Vargas had much heavier hands, and it would show on Floyd.

Look at the videos posted side by side. Vargas is the slicker boxer....don't confuse slicker with quicker. Castillo is clearly a faster puncher.

You're quite correct actually. I do regard Castillo as the better fighter, tbh. I don't think Vargas was 'slicker' either though he had pretensions to be.

But at the end of the day, Vargas is just 3 freaking weights bigger. It's a hard fight.

I'll say this for Vargas though - his footwork was really good. His best asset by far. He was very good with angles & setting traps and draws. Unfortunately against Floyd he'd be against a master of this so Im not sure this would help him much.

"Floyd...just keep him in front of you ... keep him in front of you ... that's all you have to do..."

    - A concerned Roger Mayweather after a round in which Castillo nearly took PBF's head off with an upper-cut he threw after setting himself up to the side of PBF.

Floyd has no bussiness at 154 and Vargas was at some point a strong as fuck, natural Jr. Middleweight. Looks like trouble for Floyd.

That said, the fact that you have to go 5 divisiones higher from where the guy has fought most of his career to get guys that would beat him looks pretty good for Floyd IMO.

Are you saying that Floyd has a great chin?

Again, what the FUCK does this mean? That Floyd can't deal with movement or angles? Have you got set up some sort of random post generator to fill in for you lately LL?

This failed droll, Elvira-Hancock-after-a-head-knock mode of communication you've taken on lately is a serious pain in the balls, dude.

My bet is he doesn't know what the fuck he's trying to say himself.

It's hardly necessary to go to such an extreme to find someone who would best Mayweather, though. I got the feeling the idea of the thread was to match a very good bigger man against a brilliant smaller man, & let the size perhaps --- or perhaps not --- allow the lesser man to close the margin & emerge victorious.

I mean, let me put it in these terms --- Mayweather has campaigned in five divisions. Is there a single one in which any of us would call him the best of all-time for that weight? I wouldn't.

WTF are you talking about? PBF has been at 147 for nearly half his career !!!

5 divisions? 130-135-147-154 ... I count three from 130 you lying mother-fucker !!! And PBF has spent at least as much time above 130 as he has at 130. Stop fucking lovin him you bitch !!!

Shut up you unbelievable shithead. You don't even deserve a proper answer.

From all the posters I've seen on the web I have to say you're the only POS that has not made me think 1 single time "You know what we may not share opinions but this guy is no fool" or made me smile with something creative and intelligent they've said.

    Not... A... SINGLE... TIME.

May a tornado destroy your city with you in it. I'm sure the rest of the population in it will sacrifice themselves gladly for the cause if they ever met you.

I wouldn't call him the greatest but I would certainly give him a great at beating anybody at 130 for sure.

I wasn't saying you had to go to 154 to find a guy that could beat him BTW.

Sorry for the confusion, then. There is at least one name at 130lbs, though, I for one wouldn't give Mayweather a great shot at beating. Sandy Saddler.

Read below and tell me that your post isn't total B.S.:

    1. 154 is not 5 divisions higher than any weight class PBF has competed in
    2. PBF has not fought most of his career at 130
    3. We don't have to look at 154 for guys to beat him - we do have to look at 154, however, if we're interested in discussing how PBF would do against a prime Vargas
    4. Why does PBF have no business at 154? He was clearly bigger than Mosley. And he had no problem facing JMM at 147.

You think "nando" would outpoint Floyd mayweather? How? With what army?

  28. Hut*Hut

Not even slightly tbh. Don't think this fight taught us anything new apart from that Shane is badly declined now, which the sensible among us suspected might be the case going in.

As before, Floyd has a hella tough time with Vargas but is tough enough and smart enough to eek out a razor thin decision.
