If PBF wins by stoppage it's only because Mosley is old and a shell of his former self. There's simply no way PBF stops an able-bodied Mosley. None.

I agree that Floyd doesn't stop a Shane of 1999/2000 fame. But the same Shane who fought both Mayorga and Margarito? Yes.

I agree. The way the never been knocked out in his career Shane Mosley smiled at the punches from big natural Welterweight power punchers weighting in at 170 come fight night has me convinced that a little natural counterpuncher that has fought most of his career at 130, throws about 35 punches per round, is past his prime, barely coming from retirement and has chronic hand injuries has me convinced that Mosley won't see past the 10th round. This logic is hard to argue against.

    ... NOT!

I appreciate what you're saying, going on a limb against the forum to get the mad props you like so much when you predict something that very few do knowing that the forum will forget quicky if you're wrong but this will not happen. There's no way Floyd KO's Mosley and I think quite highly of Floyd.

that's true. for every one of Sly's "brilliant" predictions, there's plenty of ridiculous ones we just can't remember. He also predicted PBF would KO ODH.

PBF was lucky even to win a decision against a shot DLH. PBF was a scared little f*ck in that fight. Back foot defensive sh*t. He didn't deserve to win. DLH came out of that fight looking like he hadn't even been in one. LOL!

I can appreciate why you have taken this position.

Foreman smiled at the punches of Frazier and Norton but the natural counterpuncher not known for his punch, Ali, dropped him for the 10 count in 8 rounds.

It's not just power that stops people, it's also accuracy and accumulation of punches.

    I could be wrong...

But teh way I see it...Floyd never gets tired and Shane fights in spurts after teh first few rounds (espcially now). Floyd is statistically teh most accurate puncher in teh sport (Copywright Jim Lampley)..and as Shane starts to slow down and fight in spurts, winging for the KO and missing often (further drainng his energy) Floyd will be tattooing him with accurate counters. This will take it's toil eventually.

about 31 hours left, before we know for sure.

    But you heard it here.

I know for a fact you did.

Provide proof otherwise. If not, we can all assume that you did.

As for PBF's accuracy, it's bologne. I think Compubox had him landing 60% of his shots against ODH. And it was complete B.S. Does GBP own compubox by the way?

Mayweather UD. Lead right hands followed by a clinch all night long.

The worst thing Floyd can do is throw lead right hands on Shane. He squares up and exposes his body. Shane rips him underneath.

Yes. He is. And he promotes PBF and had him under contract even as he faced him. The self ownage is on your part for not seeing the forrest for the trees. ODH/PBF was a play, not a fight.

That's only if Shane doesn't allow Floyd to follow through with the clinch. If Mosley does rip the body you can bet Mayweather will be smart enough to stop that tactic.

My guess is Floyd is will use the jab and move constantly. He's going to force Shane to prove he can do something about it before he worries about right hands or combinations.

I think Mayweather will prove stronger on the inside than Shane expects due to his revamped body, but don't be mistaken...Shane is cockstrong. I said it at the time...the "confrontation" at the first press conference you see Floyd attempt to put hands on Shane and we saw how easily Shane pushed Floyd back. Floyd was actually trying to get his balance but Shane simply overpowered him...Floyd finally snatched away like a woman would to an abusive boyfriend (which Floyd knows all about).

You're right in saying Floyd is best using his jab and making it a boxing match. he can't look to tie up Shane or get into clinches...Shane is simply too physically strong for that. In many ways that's as bad of a tactic as Tyson's attempt to tie up Holyfield.

Holyfield spent so many years fighting bigger, taller, stronger guys (like Mosley) that when he finally faced a shorter guy (like Mayweather) he'd learned how to use his leverage and tire the other guy out. learned how to walk the other guy back and square his feet where he couldn't get off punches.

Shane's best asset are body punches, as much as Floyd says Shane winds up his shots (and he does), Floyd is wide on his shots the closer he gets to you. Plus, he has issues keeping physically strong guys off him.

One of the things he had problems with in the first Castillo fight was pushing Castillo back...he used his elbows (which caused him a point) and to an extent Castillo had success in those moments.

That kind of fighting plays more to Shane's strengths than Floyds. I suspect Floyd would be more apt to digging his own lefthook to the body than pushing right hands. The Judah fight that's what he lived on late in the fight but most were pushed punches.

In the world of Musze fo sho. But in the real world..Shane's reflexes aren't as fast as you make them out to be.

Has nothing to do with reflexes. It's about timing.

Probably not. Shane shouldn't try to lead and outspeed Floyd. That's foolish. His focus needs to be on punching with Floyd. Essentially the same thing Forrest did to him.

And again...if Floyd didn't think Shane was old and slow he wouldn't have signed the fight.

true indeed, floyd does bring up shane's age every chance he gets...as if beating a 40 year old man is further evidence that he's the best boxer of all time.

Shane's timing isn't that good. Reflexes/Timing...in this context they are the same for all intents and purposes.

I find that a bit odd too. You'd think Floyd would hype Shane up a bit, downplay his age, to max the amount of credit he gets, but no - he dismisses him as a 40 year old man every chance he gets.

And there's not much credit to be had for beating a 40 year old man :kidcool:

Don't tell that to Sly. On the one hand, he's going to give Floyd tons of credit for beating Shane, possibly anointing him as the best of all times. Then, on the other, he's going to say that the fight proves that Shane is overrated like he's been saying all along. Sly wants to have his hay and eat it, too.

That's one thing of Floyd that kind of pisses me. He diminishes his opponents as much as he can before the fight yet trains for them like they're Marvin Hagler and when he beats them he changes his tune and speaks way too high of them. I don't even want to remember what shit he said of Gatti when he beat the living hell out of him. Either way, works for him at the end but he can't really blame nobody when he doesn't get the props he wants.
