Hearns would have speared the jab right through him & found a home for that straight right against an opponent so quickly gassed. Forrest was a poor man's Hearns. A tall, rangy fighter with a good, dependable jab, a snappy uppercut, & not a whole lot else. Hearns is Forrest re-vamped something fierce. This isn't the Mosley who wasn't good enough against Forrest then, & wouldn't stand a ghost of a chance against Hearns now. If you ever wondered what it'd look like to see Mosley KO'd, any version of him, but especially this one, is at the mercy of Hearns' style & power. Hearns would beat any Mosley, in truth. By KO, too.
Hearns KO's any version of Mosley. But the Mosley of last night Tommy finishes within 3. Leonard & Duran also stop last night's Mosley.
apparantley, styles only make fights when you are trying to convince us of some outrageous proposition
:laughing::laughing: Your agenda with Floyd is pathetic. ANYBODY who doesnt think that Hearns would slaughter the Mosley of last night should never post again. Shane was a sittin duck, and get buzzed by Floyd's right hands. What in the fuck do you think Hearns would do to him?
Typical Stafford :shit: post. You're always whining about how the fighters need to be at their best and then you always cling desperately to this past prime Hearns fight as "evidence" against him.
Not sure about that. Mosley wobbled Floyd because Floyd underrated his quickness. Against Hearns he would be alert from the start and keep his hands up. I think Hearns decisions him
You can't base this on just one round. Floyd got caught by Shane, sure, but he was able to recover. Yes, Tommy hits harder than Shane and is faster, but Tommy isn't as tough as Shane was either...and Floyd's left hook will catch Tommy easier than it caught Shane. And as UGTBK said, Floyd will be more on guard with Hearns than he was with Mosley. I tend to agree with UGTBK that Tommy would ultimately decision Floyd...but I don't see a KO.
agREED. Mayweather would be in over his head against Hearns at 147....even taking into account Mayweather's win over a rusty 38 year old Mosley.
I'd be very shocked if Mosley manages to go past five rounds. Just an awful, awful match-up for Sugar.
I'd give Mosley a better chance than Pac, since style wise there's just more chance of him landing something fight changing, which would be both guys only chance. If we're talking 38 year old 18 month ring rust Shane the chances are well under 5%.
:: Floyd dominates Shane Mosley and so Duran and Leonard would have stopped him..and Hearns KO's him within three..no less. What..so suddenly Shane has a soft chin? You guys kill me with this bullshit...
Duran, Leonard & Hearns are all much more committed finishers as well as being harder hitters than Floyd. And Floyd wasn't too far away from a stoppage if he'd pressed the issue, which to your credit would have been some prediction. Im not sure what you find insane about the notion that these guys would have gotten a stoppage. It's not necessarily a knock on Floyd (or shouldn't be) it's just a styles thing. As I've said before I think Floyd takes enormous credit from the Mosley win despite Mosley's age and despite (IMO BECAUSE of) the trouble he had early on (the composure and versatility he showed, which = greatness for mine).
