the fight was more entertaining than i expected, to be honest. mosley was in survival mode, lodge your criticism against him for not fighting to win after a certain point in the bout.

i agree with you. the problem is, the numbers do not reflect our dissatisfaction. on the contrary, they're higher than ever. which brings us to one of our biggest problems - dumb boxing fans.

also, let's remember that PBF has nothing but contempt for "real" boxing fans. when he speaks, he's speaking to those who live in his fantasy world and who aren't real fans.

1.5 is a more logical number. Shane is no DLH it's not beating the 2.4 record.

i feel like the numbers reflect an audience that wants to see Floyd KO'd. That is his appeal, people don't like him and want him beaten and he has built up that personna

i personally like for floyd and root for him in all fights (except Hatton due to nationality, and of course Santos if they fight). But i watched the fight with a bunch of friends who were, yet again, completely disappointed in this fight and will be switching to MMA pretty soon.

I bet a poll of your peers here would suggest otherwise.

no i lodge my criticism against Mayweather who could have fought harder and thrown some combo's. maybe leave the crowd awe-inspired instead of another underwhelming decision

this is bullshit, don't just fucking accept this. Mayweather made possibly over $40 million, he should be good enough to throw at least the average amt of punches for a welterweight and still be excellent defensively

When has anyone ever teed off on Shane Mosley like PBF did? If SHANE pressed the action, he would have been stopped.

you had higher expectations for that fight than i did i guess. i figured it would be a lot more dull than that, with less punches landed.

But shit - I saw that Pac threw 1,000+ punches?

In your opinion, what would the result be if Pacquiao was in there with Mosley last night? Or (if tradition holds) Pacquiao decides to fight Mosley next?

mosley wouldve been able to land a lot more punches, and that in itself couldve made for more of an action fight. mosley just took an ass whipping, so Id hope he retires. pacquiao would beat the shit outta him if they fight next.

I just hooked myself up with the free access on the internet and wired it to my tv. Sh*t quality but better than nothing. Besides, they show the fight a week later for free.

Agreed. I don't think Shane's chin or body will hold up at this age. Could be a DLH type beating he'd suffer against Pacquiao.

But, Pacquiao would have gone for the KO, and probably gotten it?

dont know about that. mosley is a tough guy who i have a hard time seeing KOd by any welterweight. it looked as though the corner may stop the fight against mayweather jr because of how discouraged and ineffective offensively mosley was. against a more hittable guy like pacquiao it wouldve been a completely different fight.

Wouldn´t surprise me. There are only two US-PPV-worthy or carrying fighters in the sport right now and that is Mayweather and Pacquiao. The heavyweights don´t go on PPV anymore, heck they can hardly get on US-TV. The fab four have been reduced to Pacquiao. From 160 to 175 there is no American superstar, until Ward or Dirrell win the Super Six. So it´s basically down to 3-4 big PPVs in a year. And as much as MMA is gaining, wrestling is suffering far worsee from it than boxing.

...which is probably why they will never fight - at least not while they're both draws.

MMA has polluted ppv IMO. Too much crap out there from the UFC, half the sh*t should be on free tv.

Shane would have been better IMO. Without the drugs tests he would have been a lot stronger.

These aren't exactly all A listers and UFC gets plenty of celebrities. I'd be careful using this barometer to pick on the UFC.

Yeah. UFC's Vegas shows gets enough star attraction. Celebs like Paris Hilton and her sister are more interested in the press and being seen on camera as opposed to the event itself.
