If you want to consider a fight at 142 a serious offer, that's on you.

Pacquiao has never been serious about fighting Mosley.

    Exactly.

How was Shane ever going to make 142?

He wasn't. Not without killing himself.

He shoulda fought Corley? When did that crossdressing dicktoucher become relevant? Just because he hurt Floyd?

Seabiscuit is shot, someone put him down.

So you think Pacquaio was joking? Ok.

He was trying to wring an advantage out of Mosley just like he was trying to do, and did do, with Cotto. Obviously it didn't work, and Mosley was right not to take it. Mosley did then take the unification with Berto.

What about Agapito Sanchez? He's Dominican, but he lives in New York.

Manny will fight the greatest black american of them all. Floyd Mayweather! If Manny wins, that makes him better than any black american in boxing.
But I still got Floyd as a clear favourite to win.

Especially when the alternative was Clottey at 147. WTF? Manny had no issue with Clottey at 147 but needed Mosley at 142?

Not a serious offer at all.

    (a) he doesn't live any more anywhere (b) I wouldn't bring that fight up to highlight Pacquaio's ability to beat the fighters indicated in the title

Pacquaio so happens to have moved through the divisions at a time when there haven't been particularly talented african americans at that weight at that particular time IMO...on the other hand, theres a bunch of them at junior welter now, as well as of course MW at welter..wouldn't mind seeing Bradley against Pacquaio, the former would definitely make it a fight for as long as it lasts

Well, that is why Sly brought it up. But others seem to suggest it's by design somehow.

Clottey didn't happen until the Mayweather and Mosley fights fell through.

I know. That's the point. Pac couldn't get it done with Shane because of the weight yet he had no issue with Clottey instead at 147.

Of course. Clottey is an Arum fighter. Shane fights for the bad guys.

Arum doesn't get all the cash from a Pacquiao/Mosley gate.

They were never serious about making the fight.

Well, in the lower divisions when Manny reigned for so long, there's not that many African American fighters, no? I mean it seems the vast majority of the fighters in the smaller divisions are Asian and Spanish. So I don't know if it's a matter of Manny ducking African American fighters, as it is just a lack of opportunity.

Corley?? Manny SHOULD have fought CORLEY?? Were you that desperate for a 5th name for your list? Corley has lost more fights than he has won since fighting Mayweather. How is he remotely relevant and a fighter that Manny SHOULD have fought??

And as for Judah, Manny has beaten up two fighters at 147 who Judah has lost to. So I don't see any reason Manny SHOULD have fought Judah.

    Arguably?

Mosley and Mayweather. That's where your list ends.

I agree he should've fought Mosley by now... but he instead fought Cotto, who beat Mosley. We can flip and say, "Cotto lost to Margarito, who lost to Shane, who was calling out Pac." But nobody other than Shane was upset when Pac signed to fight Cotto.

The Mayweather debacle is what it is. I'm already on record stating their reasons for the fight not happening is absurd.

Williams hasn't fought at welterweight in two years. He fights at 154 (I think?) this weekend, his first fight in more a year that takes place below the welterweight limit. He WAS an active welterweight when Floyd first reigned as champ, for what it's worth.

    Judah? Corley? Next topic please.

The correct answer would be.. move down to 140 (where he claims to be the lineal champ). Plenty of options there, and little excuse for Arum to not make those fights happen, unless Mayweather is in fact next in line.

Otherwise, there's Tim Bradley, Devon Alexander, just to name a couple of red-hot fighters at the moment...

I was only responding to Double L.

This isn't the spirit of teh topic. The topic was really to point out the interesting trivia.

yeah but the answers were so bad it warranted a response

But I agree, it's amazing to go through so many weight classes and for that stat to remain true. It's forgivable in the lower weights, since his first 5-6 years as a pro were spent primarily in Asia, but not so much once he became an HBO regular.

Well, I guess we can assume this makes the Klitschko's all the more greater,.. they fight African Americans regularly, ofcourse if they only fought Russian and European heavyweights, this thread would probably pop up again for a bit of a supremecist scanning.
