Like the Paul Williams/Kermit Cintron thread, figured I'd make a thread so we can keep the discussions of Margarito's return and the fights in here, so as not to spoil it for those who may watch it later.

Who you got? Will the layoff hurt Margarito against Garcia?

Well I'm sure there's not just a few people who are interested in seeing how he does in his first fight back. Even if you don't like him, or think he's a cheater, the curiosity factor is probably there for a lot of people.

Without his magic wraps I expect him to go back to being a rather ordinary fighter and so Garcia has a chance against him. My main interest in the fight is seeing if I'm right about that.

Good move. I will not be here to take any chances, but I would love it if the new owners would penalize (harshly) any spoilers...and particularly cross thread spoilers of fights on the same night.

Well he's been cleared of using plaster wraps in the Cotto fight, by the commission who were there to watch the wraps being done. So that's a win that is no longer tainted by the allegations.

That's utter bollocks, they are just covering their backs. They should have seen everything in the Mosley fight too, but somehow Plasterito's magic handwraps (that had been used before) slipped through.

I would bet he had his magic wraps on Vs Cotto too. I mean really, do you think the first and only time he used them was Vs Mosley? Really?

I wasn't there any of the times so I won't say whether or not he did or didn't.

I think reasonable thinking would suggest that if he did it once, it probably wasn't the first time.

Then again I'm not 100% certain that he knew. I think his trainer, who wrapped his hands knew. There's no way HE didn't know. But for some reason I just look at Margarito as being kinda dense and it wouldn't shock me if Margarito honestly didn't know shit about it, and was blindsided by this whole thing.

I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time a trainer did something without letting the fighter know.

Maybe the Shane fight was the first time he used those plaster pads. I mean think about it, he was going in against a full fledged lifetime Mexican killer in Mosley. A guy who i... was durable as all fuck. So they knew they needed some extra sauce on Margarito's punches to stop this killer who was going to be gunning for some Mexican spare ribs.

It also explains Margarito's performance after the fact. He was terrified having to go in their against that beast with only his fists to protect him.

Margarito hit him with every punch in the book and the guy literally laughed at him...Margarito has no power without his cement and moved away and boxed for 5 of the 10 rounds. This wasn't a Margarito like performance which makes sense because he's used to guys slowing due to his "hard" punches.

Margarito never had big power anyway...he was the type that just slowed you down and wore you out...

Poor Margarito. It must suck having have to go from punching like Mike Tyson to Chris Byrd

Yeah he dropped the guy by accident in the first round but his punches for the next 10 rounds literally looked like punches from Pauli Maggliani man it was crazy. He actually ran from the guy for the last 5 rounds. The guy doesn't deserve another big money fight or a title shot, he's a disgrace.
