A great way to introduce new staff writer Gary Anderson, with 2 new features - one on Chris Byrd, the other on the Pac/Mayweather saga. http://www.fightbeat.com/
Good article, but Byrd will be a nothing in boxing history and he has only himself to blame. Both he and Ruiz were unpopular champion, both were criticized for boring fights , both were promoted by the same promoter and both would have hugely benefited of bein a unified champ. But Byrd refused to fight Ruiz on ground that he felt Ruiz was a boring fighter and so went his chance of being a legitimate champ. Still, he was an underated fighter who could make a lot of bigger guy's look awful. But no way he won his fight vs Oquendo
Wait, so the link works? I thought it was a phishing expedition to steal my identity! I have a secret identity, you know...
http://www.kocosports.com/absolutenm/anmviewer.asp?a=2822&z=188 I was wrong in stating that he refused because he thought Ruiz was boring, it was even worse. He refused because he felt Ruiz fought illegally
Now, yes I'm biased as I'm a Byrd fan, but there's now way I can imagine Chris saying that. Not to say it didn't happen, but there's no verification other than the dreaded "quotes attributed to" aspect. I'll look around but I can't imagine him saying that.
BTW, Punk. I just realized that when you click at the bottom and it says "read all articles by Gary Anderson" it takes you to a page with four items, two of which are Q&A's that I didn't do, but my name is listed on there for some reason.
are you the bloke who blew the field goal that wouldve sent the viqueens to the superbowl instead of the falcons?
