Not really. Hamsho was brave, but he got his ass completely kicked twice by Hagler. He went some rounds in the first fight, but the fight was completely one-sided in Hagler's favor and Hamsho ended up with 55 stitches for his trouble.

The second fight was over as soon as Hamsho started butting Hagler and Hamsho was gone in 3 rounds.

That being said...Hamsho was definitely world class and was a legit top contender in his day. He could beat or hang with anyone in the division except for Hagler.
