Did I take Pac's side in the negotiations over the drug test issue because Manny wins the popularity contest too? *sigh* Sly will you just acknowledge this one freakin' time - Shane was 38 years old and coming off a 16 month lay off. And that that diminishes the significance of the win.

    Here's the Problem, Hut...

If Pac had Beaten Shane Under the SAME Circumstances that Floyd Did, we'd have heard NATHAN about Shane's Age OR his Inactivity...It'd have just Been "Another REMARKABLE Performance" for Manny Pac...

The HYPOCRISY of Pac Sac Swingers is ALARMINGLY Comical...You've Done an ADMIRABLE Job of Being OBJECTIVE on the Matter, but Many Others HAVEN'T...Worse, they're UNapologetically Biased AGAINST Floyd...

Not sure if this is true...the word on Cotto before his match was..."is he shot after the Margarito fight." That point was driven home further by his performance against Clottey.

The same would have been said about Mosley.

Not to mention Roach talking shit about Shane.

While I'm on the subject of Roach...why the hell would HE get the HBO job? He's the one guy who speaks slower than Merchant. By the time Freddie gets his piece in about the fighter's record...it'll be four rounds in.

Around these Parts, REED RARELY Sees Anybody Playing the "Cotto was Shot" Card to Denigrate Pac's Performance...Especially Pac Sac Swingers...Coming Off the Margarito Beatdown (Even 16 Months Removed), there's NOfuckingWAY Pac Fans would've Said Sugar Shane was "Shot"...

Im just gonna say this again. Im not a big Pac fan. And Im not a big enough Floyd hater to be unable to be objective. Pac's recent resume is superior. So he ranks higher at the time of typing.

Since Im only repeating myself now, I'll leave it at that.

Pac fans lunacy is only matched by the lunacy of Floyd fans.

    I'm in neither camp.

Would that be the "hey I'm a Shane Mosss... Hey where is everybody?" camp?

As a Floyd fan I resent that statement.

Reasonable Floyd fans took Sly out of the camp long time ago. :warning:

Are you saying that I'm a disgrace to the Floyd camp?

Dude, I run the Floyd camp...I should start a forum called "mayweather monastery".

Keep talking like that and you'll lose your membership.:kidcool:

I don't know...Neil might have booted you out. neil's the dude who picked up Floyd's money off the canvas in the DLH 24/7.

Sly, you're merely the president of Philthy Rich Records: Canada.

Some of the rubbish being spouted in this thread is beyond absurd.

No matter how you choose to rank Mayweather Jr and Pacquiao P4P, there is NO FUCKING WAY anyone can say that Mayweather has a better resume over the last few years than Pacquiao. No way at all.

The big difference between the two is that Mayweather is a decent sized welterweight who fights smaller men at HIS preferred weight. Pacquiao is a featherweight who has gone up the weights and fought divisional champions at THEIR preferred weight.

This has nothing to do with 'bias', or 'fandom' or any of that crap. It is simply fact.

Mayweather Jr's three best wins of the last four/five years are a close win over a badly faded De La Hoya (at 154), an impressive win over Hatton (at 147) and an impressive win over a 38 year old Mosley (at 147).

Pacquiao splattered Hatton (at 140, where he had never lost and was the undisputed champ for four years), splattered Cotto (at 145, who beat Mosley and was, at worst, one of the best two WW's on the planet) and pummelled Clottey (at 147 and a top five or six ranked WW).

You can spin it however you like, but it is a FACT that Mayweather Jr, who has been a champion at 147lb for about five years, has in that time fought ONE top five ranked welterweight (Mosely) and possibly, at a stretch, ONE top ten ranked welterweight (Hatton).

That is dire for a supposed champion. But he gets away with it, because a ton of people are happy to award him bagfuls of default wins over guys he retired rather than fight 'because he would have won anyway'... :notallthrere:

    It's ridiculous.

Right, you can't like and respect his boxing game without thinking he's god.

Don't be ridiculous man. I know you have this little affair where you like to look up what Sly posts and laugh about it and consider yourself much more objective because truth be told, Sly is a bit off the hook  but there's plenty of people with reasonable opinions out there.

Nah, mate.....that type of reasoning is definitely a boon to Pac's historical greatness. But p4p = who's the best fighter in the sport at a given moment relative to his weight class. If pac chooses to fight at welterweight he gets judged as a welterweight, p4p.

As Neil pointed out correctly..

Back when Floyd was fighting at 130 he was considered a natural there and the though of Floyd going up to beat the elite at 140-147 was considered absurd. Now he's a natural Welterweight picking on poor little guys at 140-147. Christ.

    You'll must forgot.

First, it was a funny. No need to get your proverbial panties in a bunch.

Second, it's not just Sly. He is, of course, the most ridiculous, but the are others who can't see without their Floyd colored glasses. And I know there are a few reasonable Floyd fans out there...it's too bad there are not more of them. But let's not pretend that the majority are reasonable...because that's bullshit And it's not just Floyd fans, Pac fans are equally ridiculous in their mania.

Third, and I AM about as objective as it is possible to be around here. Only people who are not objective and have an axe to grind say otherwise because it makes them feel better about their biases.

And Neil holds leonard Ellerbe's feet while he holds Floyd's feet.

Speaking of which...name one other president (or whatever his title is) of a promotional company who cheerleads and caters to a guy like that. Can anyone imagine Lou DiBella doing that for Paulie Malignaggi?

    Ellerbe is a clown.

Anything he says I immediately discredit...Schaefer runs Floyd's deals...Ellerbe is no more credible as a business partner for Floyd as John Horne and Rory Holloway were for Tyson prior to Mike going to jail.

But making Hatton & Marquez come to welterweight diminishes them as welterweight wins, where he TOO fights. And in the latter case makes it fucking farcical and offensive. They should both be judged to the same standard in THIS (current p4p) discussion - as welterweights. Who's bigger or where they both used to fight is fucking IRRELEVANT to THIS discussion, which is who ranks higher at welterweight and hence p4p TODAY.

Bringing in all this irrelevant shit is really over complicating the issue.

Look at Floyd's body at 130 and compare it to now...between he and Manny he looks more likely to have done steroids.

agREED. MTF is going a little overboard here trying to make it sound like Floyd vs. Manny is a Welterweight picking on a Featherweight.

Didn't you pic Hatton to beat both mayweather and Pacquiao?

This shows you pick based on your personal preference and not based upon boxing logic...or else you HAVE NO boxing knowledge. Pick one.

Either way you're in no position to criticize anyone for saying that Mayweather has a better resume than Pacquiao. You have zero credibility. :kick:

You just implicitly said Floyd has a better resume than pac. Unless that's out of context in some way, that's truly 'off da hook'.

Thanks for you contribution Hut*Hut but I was specifically asking V10.

You see...he called me out...and is on the Floyd side and so his response is more relevant.
