Kevin Mitchell vs Micheal Katsidis

Without Warren I dunno if Mitchell would have ever gotten to a fight like this, with this kind of fanfare and this kind of pay packet.

 

I'm as big a Katsidis fan as ANYONE on this site.

I remember before the Casa fight people on here were asking who the hell Katsidis was and I was front and centre posting youtube clips of his fights and taking money bets on his prospects against that dirty Cuban bastard...:doh:

I'm delighted that Katsidis won. If you don't like Katsidis, you are watching the wrong sport.

But Werren is poison to guys like Mitchell. 31 fights and not a single live body among them. That is appalling promotion and means that Mitchell, who was a successful ammy and is a talented and skillful lad, found himsefl completely out of his depth because he expected the man in front of him to be like the last 31.

After Khan and Rubio talked and walked themselves into a 60 second destruction vs Prescott, Warren went on TV and took the blame immediately. He then fed Khan Oisin Fagan, a washed up Barrera {who was badly jobbed} and then a title fight, and then a glass jawed Salita. Warren did that. He did that.

Amir Khan is merely making money tonight off a basis that Frank Warren made for him.

 

Khan is twice the fighter Mitchell was and will be. it was pretty clear early on. Besides, with Khan's background, he never needed a guy like Warren.

Mitchell needed and needs all the help he can get. He has no shiny medal to fall back on.

 

Khan deserves credit for fucking Werren off.

I've never suggested otherwise so far as I can recall, even if he HAS been the subject of racism. That was never the driving force for his crossing the pond. It was because Werren would have had him in Bolton, fighting mandatory after mandatory for years and years.

Khan is already a millionairre. He could have rapped it all in after the Prescott fight and spend the rest of his life spending his money. He didn't, and fair play to him.

Amir is a FIGHTER. He has a china chin but he has a big heart. Evvery time he has been splattered, he has tried to get back up. I've always respected the kid for that.

Mitchell was a super ammy. ABA champ, in 2003. Since then, he has progressed about zero percent, because he was fed bum after bum

Maybe he wasn't good enough. That's a possible, no doubt. But what chance do you have when you have thirty one fights and not ONE is a live body?

My point is this. If he isn't good enough, it should have shown by now, Instead he gets iced in the biggest fight of his life in part because the guy he is fighting is at LEAST two levels above anything he has ever fought.

Its about styles. Kat has the power to hospitalize Khan if he caught him, but Paulie couldnt dent my 8 month nephew's chin.

Kat could beat the shitty Paulie from the Ndou rematch, and the Ndgojuo fight.

Maidana is a true puncher! Kat, despite blowing away Mitchell tonight, isnt really a true puncher. He's heavy handed, but relies more on accumulation.

Khan was so unpopular by the time Prescott iced him that the UK press and public actually LAUGHED at Amir.

He is such a terrible PPV attraction that ITV were able to outbid Sky PPV to screen the fight tonight, because it wasn;t worth SKY's while sticking the money in to screen the fight.
